OOC: For Hana, because I lava her. And because she made me. Sorry it took so long! I've reworked Vikram a bunch since his last RPG, so this should work out better this time. XD BIC:
Current username: The Phantom of Paris
Character’s name: Vikram Singri
Character’s approx. age: 16 going on 17--birthday January 1
Character’s physical appearance: Of Indian descent. Tan skin, thick and curly black hair, and brown eyes Shorter, only around 5'6".
Character's personality: Very theatrical and dramatic, enjoys bursting into song frequently. Can be very serious regarding theatre and his future career. Is extremely ambitious and often arrogant, but don't point that out to him. Loves acting as a role model to his three younger siblings, 7-year-old triplets Latika, Mohin, and Nariv. Loves to talk, especially about himself.
Two-paragraph sample post:
"I wish I could just drop a class, or get into a play, or change my major, or **** my T.A..."
Immediately after the line was sung in "I Wish I Could Go Back to College", playing on Vikram's ipod, he regretted putting the volume on so loud. His parents had never and never would approve of Avenue Q, and he knew that his siblings were home. He tore himself away from the Word document on his computer screen--his unfinished AP English Literature essay--just as his mother burst into the room.
"Vikram!"
He looked up sheepishly. "Yeah...sorry about that, Mom. I forgot that was on there."
Shailaja Singri raised one eyebrow at him. "I'm sure you did. I've talked to you time and time again about not playing music like that when The Three can hear it..."
Vikram turned away, already annoyed. It took everything he had not to interrupt his mother, and he decided to consider that an accomplishment.
"...so, if you wouldn't mind.."
He turned back to her. "Yes, Mom, sure. No problem." He pressed the next button on his ipod, bringing it to the next song on the shuffle sequece right after the line, "I wish I had taken more pictures."
To his luck, the next song to come up was "Kiss Me" from Sweeney Todd. He groaned, not wanting to listen. Too many memories were associated with that song. But he had to listen--it was one of his rules. He never paused, stopped, or skipped over musical theatre songs. He had no choice.
He didn't want to, but he found himself flashing back to that day with Anika.
"He means to marry me Monday, what will I do? I'd rather die! I'll swallow poison on Sunday, that's what I'll do! I'll--" Anika stopped singing, looking at Vikram with an expression of shock. "What, is Sondheim sadistic or something? Why is it so freaking fast?"
Vikram grinned at her. Him and his girlfriend, Chelsea, were currently practicing the song to perform for the school talent show next month, but Chelsea was busy that day. Vikram didn't want to waste a day of practice, so he had invited Anika over, to be his Johanna and help him rehearse.
"I dunno, just sing, Johanna."
She rolled her eyes. "Fine, Antony. Sir I did love you even as I saw you..."
After a few moments, The Confrontation from Les Mis rang through the room--Vikram's ringtone. He checked his caller ID: Chelsea.
"Would that be the lady, then?"
He nodded. She waved him away. "Go on, answer it. I'll still be here when you get back."
He smiled thankfully at her and made his way to the door, cell phone in hand. "I'll be back before those lips have time to lose that smile," he quoted.
The song ended, and Vikram sighed. I'm sorry, Anika. I'm so sorry.
