No New Posts Lakebend West Apartments

The Lakebend West apartments are just off the UNO campus, so they are very popular with college students who would rather not be stuck at school 24/7 but want to or need to live on their own still. These students are close enough to walk, bike, or skateboard to their classes, unless they really want to drive or take the bus. Rent is relatively cheap if you're rooming with someone and splitting the bill, and it includes all amenities but the Internet and cable, which the renters need to buy for themselves if they want it. Reasonably sized for their intended residents and with very lax rules from the management, these apartments are an easy choice for many students looking for an off-campus place of their own.

Board Description
University of New Orleans
The University of New Orleans, often locally called UNO, is a medium sized public urban university under the Flagship University of LSU. (As in, LSU gives them money and kind of tells them what to do... plus, your credits transfer.... it actually used to be called Louisiana State University in New Orleans.) The school is located very close to the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. Their colors are royal blue and silver, and their mascot is the Privateers (pirates, anyone?). About 7000 students attend the school, making it relatively small compared to its sister school of LSU in Baton Rouge. It is a 15 minute drive from the French Quarter.

During Katrina, the school did receive a bit of damage, not reopening from the storm until 2006. Some parts of the school are still being rebuilt. Construction on campus-- Oh joy!

Ellen DeGeneres graduated from UNO, as well as jazz musician James Westfall and a dozen athletes and politicians.
