“Soooo...what are you willing to part with? I need something to inspire this new routine I'm trying to figure out...”
Liv thought for a second, trying to picture something he would like in his mind. Then it came to her, she snapped her fingers and jumped up at the revelation. Dropping to her knees in a split second, she started digging beneath her twin bed for the right sketchbook. Sometimes she thought that she had too many sketchbooks, but they just filled up so quickly. One page after another until she couldn't do anymore with that specific book. Then it was on to the next one. "Where do you not stash drawings, huh?"
"Statche?" she asked curiously, wondering what the word meant.
Liv felt a pang of frustration as she pushed aside book after book, knowing that the one she was looking for had something specific written in the right hand corner, but she couldn't remember. A wide smile spread across her face as she recognized the new-ish looking sketchbook, knowing that this one was the one. She flipped through to the back quickly, not bothering to even notice the other drawings and tests in the front. Turning it around so Chance could see, she heard him let out a high-pitched squeak. She wondered if he recognized what it was from, but didn't really ask. Instead, she tilted her head to the side, "'Dis one?"
She watched patiently as he dropped to the ground beside her, leaning forward to inspect her work. This would have made her extremely nervous if it was anyone but Chance. "Oh my gosh, that seriously rocks, Livvy!" He took the book from her and she smiled broadly, proud of herself because he liked it. "Omigosh, omigosh, thank youuu!" He reached over with one hand and gave her a side-hug, which she gratefully returned as he let out another squeal. "That's so cool!" Suddenly, he started bouncing, like a child getting gifts around Christmas or their birthday, and while he did so he shook Liv, causing her to laugh. Sending her a grin, he gave her a kiss on the cheek, causing her blush to come back. Without a second thought, she leaned over and kissed his cheek in return. After all, he always did it, so why couldn't she?
"I think your gift out-did mine, girlie. Want me to make it up to you with a movie or something?" He looked around her home pointedly, then she saw one shoulder lift up, in a half shrug. "We could go out before your mom gets back..."
"I dunno'" She muttered, "I will... stalk you?" She said, praying that 'stalk' was the right word to say. She wanted to tell him that it was his choice and she would follow him, but she was trying to test out new words, so that she could learn them when they come up in later conversations. She missed out on a lot of jokes sometimes, just because she wasn't so good with English, and it frustrated her. Every now and again she'd find herself wishing that everyone around her could speak Norwegian, just so she could understand.

"Where do you not stash drawings, huh?" he asked her, watching Liv dig through her piles of sketchbooks.
"Statche?" she asked curiously, sounding confused.
"Yeah," he paused, slowly trying to explain what a stash was, "You stash your drawings in your bag, under your bed, in your locker...there's a huge pile of them hidden everywhere!"
Then, she pulled out the correct drawing, and his inevitable gushing commenced, as he dropped to the ground next to her, squeaking and bouncing from sheer happiness. "Oh my gosh, that seriously rocks, Livvy!" He took the book from her. "Omigosh, omigosh, thank youuu!" He reached over with one hand and gave her a side-hug, which she gratefully returned as he let out another squeal. "That's so cool!" His little bounces dragged Liv with him, since his arm was so tightly wrapped around her shoulders, and he turned to grin at her before giving her cheek a kiss. Without a moment's hesitation, she returned the gesture, and he grinned mischievously as though he had won extra prize money on top of the lottery. "I think your gift out-did mine, girlie. Want me to make it up to you with a movie or something?" He looked around her home pointedly, then lifted one shoulder in a half shrug. "We could go out before your mom gets back..."
"I dunno'" She muttered, "I will... stalk you?"
He laughed unabashedly at that, "Stalk me? Like a serial killer or something? Haha! I like that, sure!" He jumped up, taking the sketchbook with him, half-seriously and half-humorously trying to sneak himself the entire sketchbook in one attempt. "Shall we go, then? I'm ready for some excitement!"

"Statche?" Liv asked, wondering what the word he used had meant.
"Yeah," he paused, and for a split second, she wondered if he knew how to explain it. "You stash your drawings in your bag, under your bed, in your locker...there's a huge pile of them hidden everywhere!"
"So where you put things?" she asked, tilting her head to the side for a moment before spotting the sketchbook that had the drawing she was looking for. She could feel her heart race as she brought it out and began flipping through the pages. As usual, Chance began complimenting her, gushing over what she had created. And every time he did it, she never failed to feel a mixture of happiness a sort of pride that she rarely felt when she looked over her drawings by herself. His squeaking and bouncing made her laugh. He was just like a child sometimes. "Oh my gosh, that seriously rocks, Livvy!" He took the book from her and she let it go willingly, which she wouldn't do if it were anyone else who had taken it. If it was someone else, chances are she would try to snatch it back, they were that personal to her.
"Omigosh, omigosh, thank youuu!" he said ecstatically while he reached over with one hand and gave her a small side-hug, which she gratefully returned. "That's so cool!" His continuous bouncing dragged Liv with him, which caused her to laugh. She was glad then, happy that she had a friend who would always make her smile, no matter what. Turning to send her a broad grin, Chance kissed her cheek. That caused her face to turn a bright pink with something like embarrassment in her mind.
Without a moment's hesitation, she kissed his cheek in return. She was expecting his face to turn the shade her's was though, so when it didn't, she tilted her head to the side, trying to figure out why the expression on his face was so... mischievous. "I think your gift out-did mine, girlie. Want me to make it up to you with a movie or something?" He looked around her home pointedly as her gaze dropped to the floor. She still couldn't believe that he was in her house, in HER room. The first person-besides her parents- since Natalie had died. After the incident, she never invited anyone inside, not even her tattoo artist friend. It was strange to think of it that way, so she was glad when he spoke again. "We could go out before your mom gets back..."
"I dunno'" She muttered, "I will... stalk you?" She was unsure of what exactly she was saying, but she wanted to use new vocabulary, to prove it to herself that she was actually learning. But the reply she got made her worried. He laughed loudly, causing a slight frown to appear on her face. "Stalk me? Like a serial killer or something? Haha! I like that, sure!"
She sighed lightly, making a mental note to not use that word again. She watched him as he jumped up, her sketchbook in his hand, as if she wouldn't notice. "Shall we go, then? I'm ready for some excitement!" Liv arched an eyebrow, about to tell him that he should leave the sketchbook there, but she heard the faint sound of a car door and she knew that the book could wait. Not knowing if it was one of the neighbors or not, she didn't want to risk it being her father and her being off guard. That would just end in disaster. Nodding quickly, she muttered "The back door." and almost ran out of her room, her heart pounding. If he found out that there was a boy in her room, then she would regret it.
Opening the door with her good hand, she slipped outside, waiting for him to come out too and hoping that he didn't have any questions for her about how skittish she was being. Chance had never met her father, and she never wanted him to. Her mother had a good acting face, but her dad... that was a different story entirely.

Chance Savege
"I think your gift out-did mine, girlie. Want me to make it up to you with a movie or something?" He looked around her home pointedly, thinking of Liv's slightly-psycho madre. "We could go out before your mom gets back..."
"I dunno,” she muttered, "I will... stalk you?" The words were accented in Norwegian and made Chance laugh with their unsure content. He laughed unabashedly, making Liv retreat some, the mouse that she was.
"Stalk me? Like a serial killer or something? Haha! I like that, sure!" He imagined Liv hiding out in bushes as he walked down the street, all dressed in black like a ninja and wielding a long, pointy paintbrush as her primary weapon. He wondered if that was considered a blunt object or a blade. It probably depended on how pointy the wooden part of the brush was.
She sighed lightly, but he didn't hear it, jumping up with her sketchbook tucked under his arm as if it belonged there. "Shall we go, then? I'm ready for some excitement!" Liv arched an eyebrow, opening her mouth to say something, then stopped. Distantly, he heard the slamming of a car door. Liv sprung into action, a fear flashing across her bright green eyes. Nodding quickly, she muttered "The back door." Chance did a double take as she raced out of the room like a frightened squirrel. Before he raced out, he glanced around the room as though to check that all was well and there were no gnomes involved, then raced after her, guessing at where the back door was. Fortunately, she left that door open.
“Thanks!” He skipped out the door with exaggerated movements. “Where next, ninja warrior?” Chance reached over to take her hand with his free one, sending her a smile. He didn't know what had her in all this uproar, but he could guess her mother wouldn't be a fun visitor at the moment. Besides, he could go along with it. Most of his days were made up of boring attempts at spontaneity anyways. “Can we jump a fence on our way out? Pretty p-uh-lease?”

OOC: So very sorry for the long wait, luvy. So we are wrapping this up, ya? If not, let me know. ^.^ BIC:

"Shall we go, then? I'm ready for some excitement!" Chance stated in his usual excited tone. Liv arched an eyebrow, though and opened her mouth to tell him that the sketchbook he had under his arm should probably stay behind. But she stopped suddenly, a small sound reaching her ears and immediately put fear in her bright green eyes. It was a sound of a car door. She didn't know if it was her father's or her neighbors, but she wasn't going to stick around long enough to find out.
Nodding quickly, she muttered "The back door." She could feel her heart pound with every step she took and her breath caught in her throat. If it was her dad and he saw Chance, she would regret it. Reaching for the doorknob with her good hand, she twisted and walked out but made sure to leave the door open for her friend.
“Thanks!” he stated as he skipped out the door and she shut it behind him, feeling a heavy weight lift off of her chest and she could breathe somewhat normally then. But she was still frightened, she knew at any moment her dad could be in the house and looking for her. “Where next, ninja warrior?” he asked, taking her good hand in his and sending her one of his bright smiles that she couldn't help but return. He always seemed to be happy, no matter what, and that was okay with Liv. She figured it was one of the factors that made him so endearing and likable. “Can we jump a fence on our way out? Pretty p-uh-lease?”
She laughed a little, then nodded. "Okay, you pick one an' we will jump it." Liv had no problems jumping fences, she had always done it in Norway for various reasons that seemed to change every time.

They raced out escaped-criminal-style until they had reached the back door, and Chance couldn't resist skipping out, bold and unafraid. “Where next, ninja warrior?” he asked, taking her good hand in his and sending her a grin. In a way, he was proving something to himself as well as to her. But he couldn't quite figure out what it was that he was proving, and why. Either way, it was a good excuse to hold her hand and reassure her that it was gonna be alright, that he wasn't going to let the race from parental figures ruin their time together. “Can we jump a fence on our way out? Pretty p-uh-lease?”
She laughed a little, then nodded, his skills working beautifully at calming her, as they usually did. He wondered what she thought of that ability, which he found pretty natural with other people but impossible to explain. He wondered if she liked it, or secretly found it irritating. Some people didn't like giving up their own self-control. Some people had no choice in the matter. "Okay, you pick one an' we will jump it."
"Yes!" He gave the air a little punch and headed toward the nearest chain-link fence, hitting it as a quick run-and-jump and clambering up. There was something utterly terrifying and thrilling about just climbing a stupid fence. It was like giving the entire metaphorical wall of rules and regulations a rude gesture and overcoming it. Each time his foot clumsily fumbled for a hold, his heart pumped a little harder, until his mind caught up with the fact that they'd climbed several available fences and were way out of any 'danger' now. Either way, he kept running, stopping only to make sure him and Liv were level, as side-by-side as he was capable or ensuring. It was the way he wanted it to be, in his own weird way. "Over here!" he bellowed through gasps, turning toward the center of town. The escapade had turned into a silly race. And he would once again ignore the obvious implications.
Chance is going..going...GOOOONE!
