OOC: Someone please tell me if I'm posting this in the wrong place or if it's not really that good and I'll be happy to edit it. It was MN's idea! XD BIC:
The Aldis' house is new to their family, but in reality it had been there for quite a few years. The building is relatively small compared to the houses surrounding it but it's big enough for their small, three person family. There are only two bedrooms in the far corners of the house which are separated by the family room. One being for the parents and one being for their only living teenage daughter named Liv.
Dull grey carpeting is laid out in all of the rooms except for the kitchen, which only takes up a very small portion of the house and the flooring it has there is a sheet of linoleum cut to fit. If one were to wander into the parent's room, then they would see the trash and glass bottles littered everywhere. Liv's room is a completely different story though. Pictures are tapped and pinned and nailed up to every wall. Some of the pictures she drew and some her sister had done before she passed away. Sketchbooks are normally found in stacks under her bed along with various supplies that she collected over the years. And it is normally clean, except for the occasional outfit she'll lay out just in case one was needed.
There isn't very much furniture in the building, just one worn down couch, a television set that was Liv's parent's pride and joy, and a small, circular dinner table with four chairs placed around it. The table is the only new-looking item in their house because they never really used it. Meals were eaten in their rooms or the living room.

Liv Aldis
Liv was sleeping, which is what she normally did on Saturdays like this when there was just nothing to do and all of her work was done. And that would have been fine if she had locked herself in the safety of her room. But that day she was sleeping on the chair, facing the television that was turned to a channel her parents wouldn't normally watch. Pictures of different art pieces flashed on the screen, one after the other and the monotone voice narrating the channel had lulled her into sleep when her parents had left. She felt safe in that house when her parents were gone, and that was the only time. Even when she would think that they were asleep, she could never be too sure.
Unknown to Liv, her mom had returned home and was going through the small fridge that they had in their cramped kitchen. Her mom was a tall woman with hair that shouted 'I'm not clean!' to anyone her bothered to look at her and it was always pulled back tightly in a pony tail. She used to be beautiful to see. Bright green eyes and brown hair that framed her high cheekbones. She used to always keep track of her appearance and make sure she looked good every day, with the latest fashion and make up, no matter what the cost. People used to go to her for advise on anything that concerned hair products as well. But that was back when she cared about what others thought of her. Now she is normally seen in a dirty, baggy T-shirt and jeans that just look way to worn out to be okay to put on.
Liv couldn't hear the curses her mother said, along with her name when she found out that their bottle supply was almost gone, nor could she see the way her mother moved towards her with that look in her eye again. Because if she did, she would have run as fast as her legs could carry her out of the house and down the street. Instead, she lay there in her own dream world, images of happy things flashing through her head like a movie of what never was.
"Time to wake up," her mother muttered in Norwegian, using a sickeningly sweet voice. She brushed away the hair that had fallen into Liv's pale face with one hand and grabbed at something in her pocket with the other hand. But her words, as threatening as they were, didn't reach Liv's thoughts and she laid still. When there was no reply from the unconscious teenager, her mother grew even more angry, because she saw this as some type of defiance on Liv's part.
Taking her palm into her skinny hand, she studied it for a moment before deciding on a place. With the other hand, her mother flicked on the lighter and placed it right in the center of her hand, burning at the skin there. Liv woke up screaming and tried her hardest to pull away from the woman's grasp but failing. After a few agonizing seconds, the lighter fell from her hand and raised quickly to slam across the side of her face. Cradling her injured hand close to her body, she fought the urge to cry. Crying, she new, would just coax her mother into doing more damage.
"Don't you dare ignore me again!" A second hit left Liv's head reeling and her ear ringing so loudly that she didn't even hear the light knock on the front door. "This better not be your doing," she hissed venomously, a threat in her words. Liv's bright eyes widened as she shook her head, her eyes glancing from the woman sitting to the right of her and the door. Standing up, she straightened out her worn-down shirt and scowled at her daughter.
"You know what to say," was the last thing she whispered before going to the door with the amazingly real-looking smile on her face. Liv just sat there in shock, staring at her throbbing hand with eyes that didn't entirely see. And silently, she prayed to every god she had ever heard of that it wasn't her father at the door. But she didn't dare make a dash for her room, because she knew the consequences to that if they had company.

OOC: Chance is wearing the outfit on the left. XDChance SavegeHe was humming a high-paced beat, half-dancing his way down the sidewalk with his hips swinging unabashedly from side to side. Chance hadn't exactly made sure it was okay to come over - he'd sent Liv a text half an hour ago but hadn't gotten a reply - but he figured it wouldn't be a big deal. Liv always seemed to have nothing to do, and was always okay with going wherever with him on a last minute whim. He knew, because he'd taken her for a lot of last minute whims in order to avoid his house a little longer. Random trips to the movies or the park or the skating rink. Wherever was cool, and he didn't much care where they went tonight. Maybe he'd get Liv to pick a place. He just hoped she didn't have homework or something stupid like that. Twisting the long cord of his necklace around his fingers, he stared up at the house. He remembered dropping Liv off here a couple times, but she never invited him in, and she always seemed nervous once they got closer to her house. She'd get super-quiet - more than she already was - and kind of...distant. He wasn't sure how to express it. With a mental shrug, he skipped up to the door and gave it a few energetic knocks. The yard is kind of neglected.. he thought with a bored stare at the uncut lawn. It stood out from its neighbors somehow. Weird...He continued entwining the necklace around his fingers until the door opened, and a middle-aged woman answered the door. Probably her mother. Chance gave her a warm, innocent smile and wriggled his fingers in a hello. "Hi! I'm looking for Liv...? I'm Chance - a friend of hers from school..." Good job, Chance, he congratulated himself mentally, You sound nice but not creepy. Now let's just hope she isn't a homophobe or something. "She home?"

Liv's heart dropped as she heard the voice of Chance coming from beside the door. Jumping up from her place on the couch, she ran into the bathroom and ripped open the first aid kit, gauze and other things flying into the sink. She would clean it up later. Right now she was on a mission and in record time she managed to put aloe on her burned hand and was wrapping it up as she ran back into the living room.
"She home?" she could hear him ask and she spoke before her mom had the chance to. "Ja!" She watched as her mother turned to fix her gaze on Liv's speedy bandaging. "So you invited him?" came her fake small voice, her eyes telling the truth of what she was plotting. She merely shook her head, taking the door from her mother's hand and opening it to reveal the inside of their house, gesturing for Chance to come it. She knew that would anger her mother even more, but she also knew that she wouldn't try anything in front of company.
Her mother stepped aside, but shot Liv a secret glare before turning to their visitor. "I didn't know she had any friends at the new school." she said, that false smile still across her face. "At least none that she would feel comfortable enough around to be seen in her pajamas."
Liv suddenly turned pale, then a bright pink as she realized that what her mother said was right. She was still wearing her black and purple plaid pj pants and purple tank top. Taking in a shaky breath, she slumped a little at the laughter that followed from her mother. Of course, today had to be the day he decided to pay her a visit. The day her mother was home and she wasn't dressed for the day. "Sorry," she muttered, defeated and her mother's smile stayed on her face. Silently mocking her.

"She home?" Chance asked cheerfully. Before her mother could answer, Liv's head poked into view with a, "Ja!" ringing out. Chance turned to beam at her, "Hey!"
"So you invited him?" came her mother's gentle voice. Liv just shook her head, at the same moment Chance did.
"Ah, no actually..." he slipped in with an embarrassed look, "I just wanted to pop by and see if it'd be cool for her to come with me to the library." Yeah, library is always the backup location, right? Nothing wrong with a library.. Without waiting for a signal from her mother, Liv opened the door and let Chance in. He stepped over the threshold tentatively at first, giving the place a quick once-over and subduing a nose-wrinkle. The place smelled like Liv, though. The television was on and pieces of art from people that were probably very dead and once had wooden teeth flashed across the screen.
"I didn't know she had any friends at the new school." Liv's mom said with a smile. Chance returned the gesture as sweetly as possible. The truth was, she didn't have many friends. But she did have some. Did her parents have no clue whether she did or not because she didn't want to tell them, or because they didn't bother to care? "At least none that she would feel comfortable enough around to be seen in her pajamas."
Chance did a serious double-take with Liv's outfit then, realizing that she was in her pajamas. He grinned at her purple plaid pj's and her cherry-colored face, unable to hold back a giggle. Her mother did a forward laugh. "Sorry," she muttered. Chance reached over and poked her stomach.
"Don't be! I think they're cute! I want a pair just like them!" He subdued a squeal for Liv's sake, but clasped his hands reverently, giggling still. After a moment, he tilted his head at her like a puppy and asked, "Sooooo...you able to come? Or is Pajama Day a bad time for you?" He managed to flicker his eyes pointedly toward her mother without her seeing. "I want your help with something...it's due next Monday though...my stupid internet keeps whacking out on me."

Chance watched in embarrassment as Chance did a double-take of Liv's outfit. She couldn't believe that she had forgotten about that, it was almost too humiliating to be seen. But it was done and there was no point in changing. She watched him as he grinned and giggled, obviously amused. Silently, she wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out at him before muttering "Sorry." Chance reached over and poked her stomach.
"Don't be! I think they're cute! I want a pair just like them!" He stated, giggling again. She could have died from the embarrassment but she decided to focus on her mother's expressions, evaluating them to see what would happen to her later. "Sooooo...you able to come? Or is Pajama Day a bad time for you?" Her mother twitched. Liv knew that she would use this as ammunition later on for her insults. She always did, that's why she kept her school life a secret. "I want your help with something...it's due next Monday though...my stupid internet keeps whacking out on me."
Liv bit her lip, but her mother spoke before she did. "Okay, I get it. Parents aren't cool. I'll just go. I'll be home later and we'll have a talk." The way she spoke sent shivers through Liv's spine. The last time they had a 'talk' she had been seriously hurt. But she nodded, keeping her eyes straight ahead and blank. "I need to get some supplies from the store anyways," she muttered before walking out and shutting the door behind her. Running to the window, Liv stared at her mother as she got into her car and drove off. It wasn't until she was out of sight when she finally turned toward Chance. "Are you crazy?" she asked simply.

I need to get some supplies from the store anyways," The two kids watched her leave, Chance with an arched eyebrow and a petulant, stubborn expression. Once she was through the doors, he let out a disapproving whistle.
"No offense, cuppy cake, but she's a piece of work.. what the heck did she mean by that?" He turned back to Liv and wondered at her strange expression. Lifting both shoulders innocently, he asked, "What?"
"Are you crazy?" she asked simply.
"Oh, definitely," he chortled casually, crossing his arms on his chest and jutting one hip out at an angle, sending her a mockingly sultry look, "I'm as crazy as they come. Except I didn't win the gold because my fashion sense was too good or something." He looked around the place again, almost choking on the smell of smoke but trying not to show it. "Heeeey...where's your room? Can I see? Can I seeee, huh? We can go look and be out of here before she's back, if you want!" Without waiting for a response he jumped towards a doorway, staying out of her reach in case she tried to stop him. First try he got a dirty-looking bedroom first that didn't look anything like 'Liv'. He scowled and moved on. The second guess was right, and he laughed as he poked his head into the doorway. "Duuuude...this must be it! Omigooosh!" He sat down on the bed and bounced a few times, looking around at the pictures on the walls. "This is more like it. Hey, I know that one!" He pointed at a drawing she'd done of herself, "That's one of my favorites! But this one I dunno..." he tilted his head at a drawing her sister had done in charcoal, curiosity on his face. "When did you do this? It doesn't look like yours.."

Once she was through the doors, Chance let out a disapproving whistle and Liv ran to the window, to make sure that she was actually leaving. She knew what her mother was out to buy, considering they had emptied out their supply of alcohol the night before.
"No offense, cuppy cake, but she's a piece of work.. what the heck did she mean by that?" Liv turned to face him as her mother's car disappeared from sight. He lifted his shoulders innocently and asked, "What?" Liv smiled, despite the face that her right ear still rang and her hand felt like it was still on that flame. She couldn't help but smile whenever Chance was around, he made everything funny.
"Are you crazy?" she asked simply.
"Oh, definitely," he chortled casually, his arms crossing over his chest as jutting one hip out at an angle, sending her a mockingly sultry look, "I'm as crazy as they come. Except I didn't win the gold because my fashion sense was too good or something." Liv laughed, then watched as he looked around her small house. Something in his eyes made her feel embarrassed that he was there. "Heeeey...where's your room? Can I see? Can I seeee, huh? We can go look and be out of here before she's back, if you want!" He didn't wait for a response, instead, he just ran to one of the rooms. She knew it was inevitable that he would get to it, so she didn't try to stop him. Wrong room. He must have known it too because he scowled and kept walking. She could hear him laugh as he poked his head into her room to look around.
"Duuuude...this must be it! Omigooosh!" He sat down on her bed and bounced a few times, Liv followed behind him and just stood, feeling slightly exposed and glad that she had gotten the blood stains out of the carpet the night before. "This is more like it. Hey, I know that one!" he exclaimed, pointing at a drawing. Her gaze followed where he was pointing and she smiled. It was the drawing she had done of herself. "That's one of my favorites! But this one I dunno..." he tilted his head and Liv's heart sank again. "When did you do this? It doesn't look like yours.."
Muttering a few curse words to herself, soft enough that he couldn't hear, she stared at the drawing for a while. It was one her sister had drawn... but how could she explain that to him? "It... not mine." she said slowly, not caring whether or not her voice still had that heavy Norwegian accent. "My sister did it." She could still remember Natalie's bright eyes and smile, how she would constantly tell her to calm down and loosen up. The goofy way she acted and the funny things she said. But she was gone now... and she wouldn't be coming back.

"Duuuude...this must be it! Omigooosh!" He flew through her room and immediately found a pouncing spot on the end of her bed, looking around to admire the multitudes of art pieces bound to the wall with care. She always does things so meticulously and carefully, like everything is made of paper...I guess that's because her favorite things are...they're made of paper.. "This is more like it. Hey, I know that one!" he exclaimed, pointing at a drawing. Her gaze followed where he was pointing and she smiled. It was the drawing she had done of herself. "That's one of my favorites! But this one I dunno..." he tilted his head at the newly spotted drawing. It was a macabre recreation of what he supposed was the little mermaid from Hans Christen Anderson, the tide was sweeping in and eating away at her elongated fin and drawing her off her beach. He could see the ends of her turned into sea foam already, and the girl was reaching for someone who stood just beyond the reach of the thick, glossy paper. It was kind of a dark piece. "When did you do this? It doesn't look like yours.."
Liv didn't answer at first, but he didn't prod her, just watching the drawing with her and glancing over at her a couple of times, trying to gauge the look in her eyes with the drawing. Liv was one of the few people who could make him wait. For anything. But her answers were usually worth waiting for. "It... not mine." she said slowly, "My sister did it."
Chance sent her a surprised look, and a smile lit up his face, "Ooooh! You have a sister?! I didn't know that! Did she teach you to draw?" He leaned forward to look at the mermaid with added interest, tilting his head to inspect the little dots that hinted at sand. "Your styles are sooo different. Look at her angle-thingys and her lines for dark bits.." He wished he understood art terminology. He pointed to the shadows and curved lines that enshrouded the mermaid's outstretched arms. Chance glanced between the mermaid and the drawing of Liv that sat next to it, and he gave a little nod as he came to a solemn conclusion. "I like yours better.."
Shifting on the bed, he turned to beam at her, "I brought you something, by the way..."

Liv didn't answer his question about the illustration at first, but he didn't annoy her either. That's one of the things she liked about him- he always waited for an answer and usually he did it patiently. Tears almost clouded her eyesight when she managed to say "It... not mine." Her strong Norwegian accent showing, "My sister did it."
She didn't turn to see his expression, instead she just stared at the paper. She remembered the day Natalie did it in detail. How she had watched and admired her work as it all came together to produce something beautiful. It was like a branch of herself, a captured moment of emotions on paper. No, she would never forget this drawing. After her death, Liv always thought that the mermaid was her and she herself was reaching out for help. For her. But Liv wasn't in the piece, she wasn't there when it happened either. It fit to morbid perfection in her mind. "Ooooh! You have a sister?! I didn't know that! Did she teach you to draw?" She muttered a 'yes' in reply. Because she did along with her tattoo artist friend. Together they taught her what she new and then some. Chance leaned forward to look at the mermaid with added interest, as if the piece hqad changed somehow in some way that wasn't clear to her. "Your styles are sooo different. Look at her angle-thingys and her lines for dark bits.." Liv arched an eyebrow, almost getting what he was trying to say but not really. "I like yours better.."
Shaking her head, Liv looked straight in his eyes with her own wide ones and said, "Her's was always better." And that was true to her. It didn't matter if it was a disproportional stick person, it was better than her's. Just because it was Natalie who had done it. Liv could draw until she was in the grave, and then some. But her's would still be better.
She turned to see Chance shift on the bed slightly as he turned to beam at her, "I brought you something, by the way..."
Tilting her head to the side, she walked over to her twin-sized bed and sat down next to him, a question in her eyes. "You shouldn't get me things." she said softly, not because she didn't like it when he did. She loved getting gifts from friends and stuff, but it was her parent's. They don't like her getting anything and they take pride in destroying it in front of her. Even things that they had gotten for her. In her mind, it was just a waste of money but in her parent's minds it was a way to try and break her. And sometimes, it worked.

OOC: It's the second one from the left. <3Chance Savege"Your styles are sooo different. Look at her angle-thingys and her lines for dark bits.." Liv arched an eyebrow at his wording. "I like yours better.." Shaking her head, Liv looked straight in his eyes and said, "Her's was always better." Chance arched an eyebrow at that, and at the finality of her words. As if it was just fact, and there was nothing anyone could say or do to change that. He shifted position on the bed as he shifted the conversation into what would hopefully be a brighter note. "I brought you something, by the way..." Tilting her head to the side, she walked over to her twin-sized bed and sat down next to him, a question in her eyes. He could see her curiosity, even if it was so much more subdued and quiet than his would have been. "You shouldn't get me things." she said softly, making a flash of irritation rise in the back of his mind. Why did she always try to deflect things like that? As if she was shielding herself against anything relatively happy. "Pffft.." he snorted, waving dismissively in her direction. "Yeah, whatever. It isn't about 'should', anyways! I'm still gonna give you stuff! Random crap is good for the soul, mah sistah!" He gave her two thumbs up, waving them up and down in front of her and turning it into a little dance celebrating the random crap in the world. "It's nothing big or expensive or anything, anyways. Just made me think of you when I saw it. Here!" He pulled the keychain out of his pocket and held it out for her. Sally and Jack were dancing, and he smiled to see the cute and morbid-looking little characters on the tiny keychain. "Sally always makes me think of you, actually.." He smiled softly over at her. He wasn't sure why, but something about Sally's expressions and her song always made him feel so sad, and reminded him of all of Liv's quiet moments where she didn't say anything.

"You shouldn't get me things." she said softly, worried that whatever he got her would fall into the hands of her parents if they managed to see it. She could tell that he was a little irritated and possibly hurt, but she knew that she couldn't explain why she said what she did. She didn't want him, or anyone for that matter, to pity her.
"Pffft.." he snorted, making her giggle despite herself. Chance waved a dismissive hand in her direction. "Yeah, whatever. It isn't about 'should', anyways! I'm still gonna give you stuff! Random crap is good for the soul, mah sistah!" She was immediately hurled into laughter as he started to dance. He had his thumbs up and he waved them in front of her. It was the most hilarious thing that she had seen in a long while. "It's nothing big or expensive or anything, anyways. Just made me think of you when I saw it. Here!" Her laughter died as she saw what he had just retrieved from his pocket and was holding out for her. It was the two main characters of her favorite American movie of all time! Her eyes widened slightly as she took it in her good hand. "Sally always makes me think of you, actually.." He smiled softly over at her, but she beamed in return. Without a second thought, she tackle hugged him, throwing her arms around his neck an laughing happily while making sure that she didn't bump the burned palm against anything. Actually, she was fairly surprised that he didn't comment on the new bandage.
"I love it," she said sincerely as she hugged him. "Thanks" She said, but her accent made it sound more like 'thax'. Than she paused and sat up again, looking him in there eye and saying, "I don't have... any gift for you."

"Pffft.." he snorted, making her giggle. Chance waved a dismissive hand in her direction. "Yeah, whatever. It isn't about 'should', anyways! I'm still gonna give you stuff! Random crap is good for the soul, mah sistah!" He gave a little dance that turned her cute little giggles into endearing laughter, and that made him beam, happy to be the source of her amusement for a moment.
"It's nothing big or expensive or anything, anyways. Just made me think of you when I saw it. Here!" When he held out the keychain to her, the laughter stopped quite abruptly, making the quiet of the house a little more acute. But he took his own turn at a giggle when he saw her eyes widen like a kid's at Christmas. Over a silly little keychain, too.. "Sally always makes me think of you, actually.." She did. The gentleness, the way she was so shy about herself, and unsure. And the constant scars and tears she wore the way other people wore jewelry. He looked up at her face, searching for the moment of happy approval, and in return received an intense tackle aimed at his abdomen, sending his heart into a quick little leap toward a spot between his eyes and only making it to his esophagus, coming out as a choked laugh.
“I guess you like it, huh, girlie?” he giggled, returning the hold, and enjoying it while it lasted. Liv usually shied away from the excessive hugging thing. His heart dropped to the floor again as he realized she was probably only comfortable with him because she didn't think him a threat. Because he had always been terrible at coming across as threatening. But perhaps it was also because she thought of it as only a friend hugging a friend. Unfortunately, it was starting to feel like a little more, and he told himself it was only because she was shy and that's why it meant so much. But he was starting to wonder. And wonder.
"I love it,"she said sincerely as she hugged him. "Thax"
He chuckled at her accent yet again, laying his cheek atop her head, “No problem, girlfriend, I'm glad you like it!”
"I don't have... any gift for you."
“You kiddin'?!” he exclaimed, pulling away first before he became too comfortable holding her so closely, standing up to take a closer look at her wall of artwork, “I'm expecting a drawing in return, of course! Not these ones, though..if you hung it up you actually may...” he let out a dramatic gasp, a hand on his heart, “You may actually like it! Imagine! One of your own drawings!” He bounced a little, the movement making one of his short, black sleeves drop off his shoulder a bit. He reached up to slip it back to its rightful place, and on the return journey his fingers caught up on his necklace, playing with it absently again. “Soooo...what are you willing to part with? I need something to inspire this new routine I'm trying to figure out...”

"It's nothing big or expensive or anything, anyways. Just made me think of you when I saw it. Here!" he said, offering her the keychain. Immediately, her laughter stop as her eyes grew extremely wide. Like he was holding out a billion dollar check instead of a keychain, but that was how much it was worth to her. She didn't get very many gifts but when she did, it was definitely something to cherish. And she would, she would cherish it above anything else. "Sally always makes me think of you, actually.." She saw him look up at her face and then she tackled him, her heart racing as she did so. She smiled so widely, her face hurt and he laughed.
“I guess you like it, huh, girlie?” he giggled, returning the hug. She nodded excitedly, still amazed that she actually got a gift. And it was small enough to hide from her parents! She could keep it! She could keep it in her pocket every day and have it close to her at all times and they wouldn't know the difference.
"I love it,"she said sincerely, still maintaining the hug. "Thax" Her heavy accent distorted the last word she said, making Chance giggle. And when he laid his cheek on her head, a bright blush came to her cheeks. She wasn't sure that she understood why though. Her cheeks would always turn red when he did that, always.
“No problem, girlfriend, I'm glad you like it!”
"I don't have... any gift for you." she replied, feeling a little down on herself that second. “You kiddin'?!” he exclaimed, pulling himself away from her as she gave him a questioning expression. He stood up and she followed suit, wondering what he meant until the answer hit her right in the face. How could she have not thought of her drawings! “I'm expecting a drawing in return, of course! Not these ones, though..if you hung it up you actually may...” he let out a dramatic gasp, causing her to giggle again at his expression. “You may actually like it! Imagine! One of your own drawings!” She would have gasped too if it weren't for the intense laughter. Then he bounced a little, causing one of his sleeves to drop off of his shoulder. She watched him as he fixed the rebelling piece of clothing, a smile on her face still. “Soooo...whatare you willing to part with? I need something to inspire this new routine I'm trying to figure out...”
She thought for a second, then snapped her fingers and jumped up. She dropped down to her knees facing the bed in lightning speed and began digging through the pile of sketchbooks there. It was hard to see which one she was pulling out, so needless to say she chose a couple of wrong ones until she found the fairly big book of her drawings.
A wide smile spread across her face as she flipped through it to the very back page. It was a charcoal drawing of the picture he had taken of them with his cellphone. She saw it on his facebook and decided that she had to draw it. And when she was finished, it was practically flawless, except for a few stray strands of hair that were too small -in her opinion- to worry about. She was rather proud of it, because she made it look so much like the picture it was practically identical. Turning it around so he could see, she tilted her head to the side. "'Dis one?'

“Soooo...what are you willing to part with? I need something to inspire this new routine I'm trying to figure out...”
She thought for a second, then snapped her fingers and jumped up. He grinned and stepped back so she could start digging beneath her bed for the right sketchbook, just how she always dug through her bags when he asked to see something specific. Bending over a bit to watch her search, he asked in an amused tone, "Where do you not stash drawings, huh?"
A wide smile spread across her face as she flipped through what he assumed was the right book, all the way to the final page. She turned it so he could see, and he let out a high-pitched squeak, recognizing the photo of them he'd put on facebook not too long ago. Liv tilted her head to the side, looking adorably innocent next to her fabulous art, as if her expression was saying 'Oh, it was nothing. It just happened.' "'Dis one?'
Chance dropped unceremoniously to the ground next to her, then leaned forward to inspect the drawing. "Oh my gosh, that seriously rocks, Livvy!" He took the book from her and resisted the temptation to reach out and touch the charcoal, sure he would mess it up. "Omigosh, omigosh, thank youuu!" He reached over with one hand and encompassed her in a side-hug, letting out another squeal. "That's so cool!" He bounced a bit where he sat, shaking Liv right along with him, then sent her a huge grin. And couldn't resist giving her a little kiss on the cheek. "I think your gift out-did mine, girlie. Want me to make it up to you with a movie or something?" He looked around her home pointedly, then lifted one shoulder in a dismissive shrug, still smiling, "We could go out before your mom gets back..."
