Oooh the Anika one is so pretty! ^_^ I like the contrast of the two pictures. The Juliet one is just hardcore, and you KNOW my feelings on anything Yukirin. XD

Personally, I think the fade you have in the Anika banner makes it look awkward... The black to color is hard. Maybe lower the opacity on the dark picture? Just my two cents. Or one cent, since I'm broke. D:

I like the Juliet one very much, love how you made the Kisu Shite banner look like once image, and love the wallpaper to pieces.

Feel up to looking for a new Clarence AI? It's been bugging me that his AI is so much older than him... >< And he's changed so much since I got him that AI. If you can find one, feel free to make oodles of graphics.

Kagayaki and Hideo graphics would be loverly... :3

The Juliet one is soooo pretty!! I can't figure out how you do your tiny pictures on the side... on GIMP? How do you do that? They have a small white outline.... how do you put that there? Is it a filter or something I haven't played with yet? XD

Yukirin banner is so cuuute ^_^ At first I thought they were magically one picture! You blended them quite nicely! ^.^

Wallpaper... LOL I was just about to use that same picture. XD hehehe... ^.^ I really love this. Yep. : D

Mascii found a border tool in GIMP. : D The tiny pictures are just small pictures pasted on a different layer... nothing complicated.

I KNOW she got such a wonderful effect on that Yukirin banner!!! It took her a while, but she got it!

GG - Yeah, this is all on GIMP. It's hard to explain, since what I used in the spot you indicated is kind of a multiple step process. <_< See, GIMP has a simple border tool I just found recently (I think it's hidden under FILTERS->DECOR->ADD BORDER ) but that's not what I use for this, because I'm too lazy to figure out how to make it border an IMAGE, not the entire banner, you know?

So what I do is, I find a pic I really love, but isn't big enough or has too much background to use for an actual banner image. I have that image open up in its own window, because I am very good at cropping/editing the wrong things. -_- I then crop around the general area I want to see on the image - usually the face, eyes, hair, etc - and then use the canvas tool. I have to double-check that the little chain image is clicked so it's broken, so that the width and height are dealt with separately. Then, I'll edit the larger edge of the image so it's equal. For example, say a Cassie picture I cropped is 350px wide and 207px high. I edit the canvas size so both are 207px. Then I have a perfectly square image, and this is when I move the image around to make sure the canvas is holding exactly what I want of the image. Then, I go into the IMAGE SIZE tool and change it to 100x100, or, in the case of the Yukirin wallpaper, I bumped it up to 150x150. Once it is a nice little square, you copy/paste it onto the banner you want, and make it its own layer. Then, you can ctrl+a to select all of that layer(it'll add a selection border around your little 100x100 square) and go to EDIT->STROKE SELECTION. Now I get a little wonky with it. XD

When I stroke, say, the Juliet banner squares to give them a border. I make sure my primary color (dunno what it's called) is white.. I STROKE the selection with 3px. Then, I go switch my prime color to black. I go and STROKE the selection at 2px. Then back to white, and STROKE at 1px. So I'm just making an even border that ensures that where ever you show the banner, and whatever colors are ON the banner, it will have a border. ^_^

Simply put, to put borders around my images, I use alternate black and white lines using the STROKE SELECTION tool, is all. It's a lot simpler to actually do it than it is to explain it, I assure you. :/ Does this make any sense? The main thing with GIMP is to USE that layer ability. I'll even make copies of an image before adding filters and such, so I have the original on bottom. Then, if the effect is too strong, I lower the affected layer's opacity until the original shows up some, lightening the effect, you know? It's just playing around, and using layers. Layers, layers, layers. Every banner has at least five layers.

BTW - I am so proud of the Yukirin banner. ^_^ I'm all, "Here are two people who live across the world from each other. These pictures, including the plants, are all hundreds of miles apart. But it still looks like they are next to each other. XD Voila! And I even messed a bit with their heights to try and make that correct. Keep in mind, Yukito is slumping. XP LOL

Okay, STILL haven't done Clarence banner, because I know it will irritate my sister, I just dont' feel like it, and because I've been working on a Cassayakukirin banner. FOUR VERSIONS. ZOMIGOSH.

I don't know why. I kept trying to fix version one. Didn't work. It's too busy. Bleh. But I liked how the text came out. It's just...busy and has that halo-effect from trying to take out backgrounds and..ew.. XD

I discovered that the old photo effect in GIMP can cover up some of the halo thingy in portraits. The coffee stains are fun. But it doesn't work for the atmosphere I wanted in this banner.. :/

HOPEFULLY LAST. Hurhur. Found a decent pic of Ohno to use, and discovered the threshold tool as a photo design! =3 I added the cool(imho) text from the second version, and I like this result much better than the others.

I love the versions of these banners, but I have to agree that the fourth one is the best. They all look so hardcore here...and I love the effects. ^_^

Freya is awesome...and so is that banner. And you KNOW I adore the Presby ones too much to convey.

lol...yeah, the first placing I had for that stain looked VERY much like a POTO mask. XD I thought that might be too pointed, though. lol..

Yeah, 42 pages. It was insane. It would ahve been normal, if I had come away with more options than three. THREE POSSIBLE IMAGES. I like the one I found, though. Most of them had the wrong positions, or had terrible quality. The picture you choose is very important. I needed their faces very close, to give more direct emotion and personal drive. I needed some shoulder in it, so that it would let Kagayaki stand out at different from the rest (the emotion behind the banner was supposed to be very 'we're all the same', if that makes sense) and I needed some high-quality to match the others. I also needed a serious face, because it's an emotional, not a fun piece. X3 I am very picky, but I hope it pays off..

I search hard for my photos. lol...
