[The Phantom of Paris]

So I was lurking browsing TPO, and I saw they had a thread specifically for songs that members felt related to their characters in some way. I was intrigued, so I thought we could try it out here and see what comes of it. Here, you can post any songs that you think "describe" characters, pairings, scenes...whatever! Post lyrics or youtube clips or both, just whatever you feel will help us connect to your charries on a musical level. It can help see what kind of music helps you post with your characters, give an insight into their personality, and maybe even be an inspiration for future banners!

I'll start. For the longest time, I've found similarities between NOLA charries and songs by one of my favorite musicians, British singer-songwriter MIKA. If you haven't heard of him...well, you're about to. He's very original and amazing and I think you'd all love him. He's said multiple times that Freddie Mercury is one of his idols, and his work is definitely influenced by him. And he's just pure awesomsauce.

Without further ado, here we go! Click on the character's name to go to a Youtube video of the song, and the name of the song itself to go to the lyrics. I'm not going to bother listing why I feel the songs suit the particular characters, because a) they're not all a perfect fit--sometimes it's just one line or lyric that reminds me of them, or even just the tune! and b) I think it'll be more fun for you to guess! Enjoy!

Preston Brailsford: "Grace Kelly" (I tried to stay away from giving the actual music videos because youtube has gone all weird with Vevo and stuff, but the video for Grace Kelly is amazing, so I gave it to you. )

Juliet Echo Eco: "Instant Martyr"

Yukito Maki: "Blame it on the Girls"

Kagayaki Aidou: "Erase"

Anika Ros: "Lady Jane"

Shelby Wright: "You Made Me"

Golden Sebastian Hunt: "We Are Golden" (I couldn't resist this one, sorry!)

Well, I don't have many, but I know a few songs that ALWAYS make me think of certain characters. Hahaha...especially recently. I don't know if you meant characters on just this forum or what...lol...

Heather Fleming - "All That I'm Living For" by Evanescence

Heather is so dark, like Evanescence, and this just makes me think about how she tries so hard to live for herself, but always ends up living – or dying – for someone else.

Ambrose Vorassi - "Bat Out Of Hell" by Meat Loaf

Ambrose is long-winded, pretty awesome, catchy, and mixes a dark theme with myths with romance. Now replace the word 'Ambrose' with 'Bat Out Of Hell'. *bows*

Lilith Eytinge - ”Just Like Heaven” by The Cure

The Cure always makes me think of Lilith, and this song starts out with such Lilith piece to it and I always imagine Lilith happy in a relationship, giddy to be in the moment. She's kind of unrealistic in her views of the people she loves, and thinks the world of them. Some dark themes to it, lots of conflict, especially in the realization and admittance of love. Healthy, mutual love is a lot harder to find than someone to love.

Yukito Maki - “Walls” by Emery

Yukito's had a runner-up of “Glass Skin” by Dir en Grey. But I figured that one is confusing with an English version and Japanese version, though I prefer the English translation of the Japanese version. Lol! But yes...'Walls' fits his mindset in Americanized style. 'Glass Skin' fits his Japanese side. I don't care to explain it.

Kagayaki Aidou - “There For You” by Flyleaf

Kagayaki is a sweet guy, but he is always working the blame game, back and forth, because he wants to be a comfort and supportive of those around him all the time. There are a lot of individual phrases that make me think of certain relationships he's had. =3

Clarence Morgan - “Nice Guys Finish Last” by Green Day (Note: profanity)

Clarence seems like a punk-lover to me. Lol And this song just encompasses all his anti-conformity, tick-everybody-off-because-I-feel-like-it kind of attitude.

Shelby Wright - “Fidelity” by Regina Spektor

Is it a 'happy' song? Is it a 'sad' song? I'm not sure, but it sure is bouncy, and though it has sad lyrics, it seems to say “I'm ready to take the plunge this time. With you. =3”

Chance Savege – ”Dancing With Myself” by Billy Idol

Imagine him singing it. Oh yeah. It was either this or “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. XD Plus, the vid is lolable and strangely dark while amusing. ZOMBIEZ! Take THAT MJ!

Daniel Middleton - "Let's Hear It For The Boy" by Deniece Williams(I think?)

That's all I got for now. I have TONS of 'sort of's for all the characters, but I can't think of any more right now...Gosh I hope I got the links right...lol
