Character's Name:
Erin Spenser
Character's Age:
16
Appearance:
-Eyes: dark brown
-Hair: medium length, naturally dark brown, but she plays with the color often, or she'll us extensions, depending.. She keeps it straightened as often as possible, but some days there's no time, and it's fairly wavy.
-Skin: Medium tonality; tans in the sun; she rarely burns, the lucky thing.
-Body: Erin is proud that she's just hit 5'2, being from two rather shorter people to begin with. She is very expressive with her eyes and hands more than anything else.
-Attire: Erin is almost always wearing a hat. Not a baseball cap-- a hat. Like fedoras and such. Even beanies are okay. She likes to wear bold colors that have strong contrasts, like red and black, or pink and grey. She doesn't like wearing skirts, and only owns a couple of them for special occasions. She loves belts that are really just ribbons and she will wear flip-flops almost all the time, even in the winter. Erin loves wearing funky earrings (she has two holes in one ear and three in the other), and as to make-up, she's only really fond of lip gloss, though if it's for a show, a date, or some kind of special occasion, she has good skill with cosmetics. She has a soft spot for random t-shirts.
Personal Info (likes, dislikes, traits, characteristics, etc):
Personality: As stated before, she is a bit Machiavellian. Also, Erin's greatest passion is music, and Erin sings, plays keyboard, and has been teaching herself guitar-- which she has caught onto very quickly. She has a tendency to change her hair color often, or at least add random temporary highlights (since her school doesn't allow "unnatural" hair colors…!). Erin is not one to trust many people, mostly because she isn't the most reliable herself. She has selective hearing and selective memory, which drives her parents nuts. She hates labels, and will purposely avoid doing something that would be considered conforming, even though that means she is conforming to the nonconformists. Erin likes to justify things a good bit, and this gets her into a few problems. Erin is a pessimist; she expects the worst from events and from people, and she also is doubtful by nature. She's very frank in her speech, and a bit sarcastic. She is also a passionate person, but only about selective things, like music. She fantasized a lot about her band making it "big", and has already promised that the first profits of their debut album would go to a "good cause" of some sort. What that cause may be, no one is quite sure. Erin is the kind that has good intentions, but often goes about it in the wrong way-- or at least the wrong way in other's perception. Erin is an average C student, with the occasional D (PE, thank you very much). She just doesn't see the point of academics if she's going to spend her life in the arts... besides other things that make school a chore. But she'll keep that to herself, thank you very much.
Likes: screamo, colors, iPods, manga, crazy awesome guitar riffs, the pool, things that don't cost a lot of money, iced tea, the letter I, Emery, Harry Potter, music festivals, the time right before a class starts, Saturdays, the moon, Doritos, hats, buttons, fanfiction, England, the Internet, free stuff, ninjas, pirates, Johnny Depp, cereal, movies made from books so she doesn't have to read them for school, Wikipedia
Dislikes: guys singing in falsetto all the time, songs made of only power chords, batteries dying, pointless arguments, Mary Sues, school assignments, school in general, alarm clocks, creepy old guys that hang out in the park, mud, jokes that go over her head, narrow-mindedness, extremism, bugs, stupid questions, not being able to drive, hurricanes, baby powder, preppy people, bubblegum pop, fake Spanish food, seafood not made the way they do in Louisiana, people hovering over her shoulder, people assuming she did something wrong, arrogance, and stupidity in general.
History/Background Information:
Erin is the only child in her family-- her mother, Mandi, is a stay-at-home mom and her dad, Jacob, is a teacher at Erin's high school… again, unfortunately. But her dad working there is the only way she can attend the school. She's from a middle class family, and the family lives in a small house with one pet-- a hypoallergenic puppy Erin fondly named Rhapsody. She's not very close to her parents, despite their efforts to keep her close, and often goes against their rules (what they don't know can't hurt them!), but nothing TOO bad. Her dad is much more strict than her mother. Erin's life is her band and her friends. She is fiercely loya to them both an expects the same in return.
Sample post (minimum two paragraphs):
Finally the street cleared enough for Erin to sprint across the lanes to the other side, where she leaned on the wall by the door to the coffee shop, breathing in the scents. Coffee smelled too good to actually be good, she thought amusedly as she pushed open the door. The bell gave a little jingle as she crossed the threshold and the scents of the shop tripled in intensity.
Erin reached into her pocket and drew her hand out empty. "Well, duh," she muttered, rolling her eyes. Of course she didn't have money with her. She didn't need money for a ticket and didn't intend on paying for anything else, but… you can't expect me to walk into a freaking café and not get something, she thought. That's just ridiculous.
