Current username: My tiny Mustard
Character’s name: Kagayaki Aidou
Character’s approx. age: Just recently turned 20
Character’s physical appearance: Short hair that grows in many different directions, which colors a bright red color, framing a round face usually donning a very happy expression. Deep brown, almond-shaped eyes that show he is obviously Japanese. He is average height for a Japanese male, which is 5' 5”, with a very thin frame.
Character's personality: Though easy to express joy, shock, confusion and compassion, he has a very hard time showing his anger and sadness. He is usually in a good mood, and will let people walk over him for a very long time before speaking up about it. Acts much younger than he is, by far. He has LD(Dyslexia/Learning Disorder, which are one in the same) and ADHD combined, so he is a very active being, not very good with paying attention, and much more bouncy than most boys his age. He is pretty much relaxed as far as the gender borderline goes – he is not afraid to wear colors and patterns that are typically seen as 'girly' (with the exceptions of entirely baby girl pink and hot pink, or wearing ribbons of course) and is not usually bothered when he is referred to as such – but retains some 'manly pride' when it comes to being called stupid; he hates being called dumb in any way – completely due to being teased for his Dyslexia – and has actually been known to get into full on fist-fights for his cause.
He is a very compassionate person, and very much a lady's man. He isn't afraid to show affection, which often gets him into trouble. One of his worst fears – and he as many, including but not limited to; the dark, snakes of all sorts, heights, choking to death, suffocating, and tunnels – is for his younger friends to make the same mistakes as him, and want to be like him. He has a very low self-confidence, but wants better for his friends.
Two-paragraph sample post:
Kagayaki Aidou
Time ticked by, furiously, as he stared down at the letter. It was written in Japanese, which would have seemed good, but it was so hard to read every stroke – each of which made the symbol entirely different from the rest – when they seemed to dance before his eyes. It wasn't fair. It just wasn't fair for him to not be able to read. He was twenty now – ni-jyu in Japanese – and he should be able to read by now, disabilities or not....
Right?
Was it really fair of whatever power controlled the world, to give him such a drawback? It was one thing to not be smart because of laziness. That hadn't been his problem. No. His case was far worse than that. It was much more horrible for him to look at this letter and know that it was completely beyond his control to read it easily.
It would have been better if it had been his fault. Then, it would have been easier to accept.
Like, his breakup with Yumichan. Of course it didn't make much sense to anyone else that he considered it his fault. But, it was easier to accept that he'd been wrong, than to sit there, wondering what she had done wrong. He couldn't bear to think that there was something wrong with Yumichan. He saw her as a wonderful, beautiful young woman, almost ready for adulthood, like a sakura just before it blooms.
Yes, just like a sakura blossom.
Tears welled up in his eyes as he tried once more to read the note she had sent him. Kagayaki knew he had to get over her eventually, but that just wasn't his way. He couldn't forget her, even now that he knew she didn't love him, that she never had.
He had loved her.
He folded up the paper and slipped it into his pocket. Even if he couldn't let go, being sad like this wasn't an option. Wiping his eyes and making them appear he had never begun crying came to him with incredible ease, though he knew it was making yet another scar on his soul.
Being happy was the only option. Making things better was the only way to do it. Pretending until it felt real.
Someone walked into the room, and he put his smile back on. It lit up his face with brilliance as he expressed his excitement for seeing someone he knew, even though he was upset. “Hado!” he cried, his body naturally inclining into a bow of respect, and a gentle laugh just so naturally springing from his soul. “H-how you... you doin', ne?”
