Character’s name: Preston Brailsford
Character’s approx. age: 16
Character’s physical appearance: Short, light blondish/brown hair that has a bit of a wave at the ends when he grows it out. Blue-greenish eyes, sturdy build of an athlete in his prime, a broad smile that reaches his eyes. Often keeps his gestures in a 'box' - that is, arms often held akimbo as he gestures with his hands merely to the extent that his elbows allow, shoulders increasingly slumped to match his easy-going nature.
Character's personality: Cheerful and optimistic, rarely found without a smile. Has been on the basketball team as one of their most dependable - even if he's not their star - player, and has loved to use this sport as a sort of release of energy. Likes old movies, and dabbles in musical theatre often enough, although what he's really interested in is not performing musicals, but writing them.
Two-paragraph sample post:
"Just a minute, Preston," his dad's voice made him halt in the doorway. The sun was extremely hot today, and Preston would have felt suffocated on his own air if he hadn't already been to the pool today, his hair still dripping wet and sticking to his face.
"But I'm already late, dad..." he complained, halfway out the door, "I won't forget."
"Don't goof off, I expect you to be on-time for this," he was instructed solemnly.
"Of course," Preston said with a grin, "Now let me go, Jay-Jay is waiting! I'll be back in plenty of time for dinner, and your whole family meeting thing, okay?" He sent his father a wave and drove off. Sure, his dad wanted the family to spend more time together tonight, but he'd told Jay-Jay an hour ago he would be coming over for their little marathon. It was 'research', in Preston's mind, for the upcoming comedy-meets-western-style play they were going to be in. And this play required the study of the entire Star Wars series, of course. Besides, it wasn't like he was the only one who was busy on Sunday afternoons! Dad just wants to keep us a close family, is all. It's hard...with him being gone so much. I'll try to make it up to him tonight, and be extra-early or something.
