Raiu's apartment shows the marks of an artist. His kitchen - the first room - has been splatter painted with red, blue, purple, and gray. It is one of Raiu's favorite rooms; he spends much time cooking. There are two bedrooms: One is small, with white walls he hasn't decided what to do with yet, the only inhabitants of this space being stacks of paintings and sketches he's done. The other is Raiu's room, hand-painted with grotesque and gothic images in sepia tones. The only furniture in here is his easel, a small bed with nothing worth mentioning on it besides some very light blankets, and a sky blue night stand that seems to glow in the dark. His living room – which is also his dining room – is simple, just a hand-crafted cherry wood table that seats four, and little else besides some huge house plants. You must go through this room to get to the only bathroom, which is rather small and cramped. It isn't very noticeable, with white tiled walls up to about waist-height, after that point becoming swirls of midnight blue that were painted like vines growing around the black and white stripes that used to be the only things adorning the walls. His apartment is usually very quiet; loud noises give him what starts out as only a stinging pain in his eardrums then becomes a full-on migraine. Sometimes you might find him at the table with his laptop or sketching, but more than likely he has retreated to his room or he is in the kitchen cooking. UPDATE: Raiu recently bought a couch. : )

Raiu Wahei
He looked over at the door. Again. Sighing, he looked at his wristwatch. She would be here any time now.
Normally, if he'd been this flustered about something, he would have been frustrated with himself. But, seeing as this was the first real date he'd ever had in his life, he was making an exception and allowing himself to pace a little. Mostly because it was coming without his consent and really hilarious.
He didn't want to make dinner until he was sure she wasn't coming to watch. After all, he'd offered to let her if she wanted. But he didn't want her to show up and expect dinner.
Wait. No, that was stupid. If she showed up and was mad because dinner wasn't ready, that was completely her problem. He would wait. Yeah. She didn't seem the type to get p---d about stupid stuff like that anyway. Right? Definitely not.
Shrugging, Raiu decided he might as well do something with himself, since he'd decided to wait. He found himself sitting at the table with his sketchbook in front of him, sketching whatever came to mind. What came about was a rather nice drawing of two hearts overlapping. One was drawn very dark with jagged edges held together by white stitching. The other seemed to shine off the page, filled in by a crosshatch pattern and with a noticeable crack down the middle, the two halves held together by an invisible force.
Raiu leaned back, a look of quiet pride on his face, a tiny smile barely appearing on the edge of his lips. 'That's us, isn't it? God, I love the subconscious.' He cleared the eraser sheddings and pencil shavings off the paper and table, then set the drawing carefully back on the table. Standing over it with his back to the front door, Raiu stared down at his work of art softly, his eyes reflecting the idea that this had been inspired purely by Juliet. Speaking of Juliet, where was she?
Someone knocked on the door and Raiu slowly turned to it. 'That must be her... no one else would come to see me.' He took his time going over to the door, a small smile still on his face. He opened it slowly, his smile growing a little at the seams. "Hello, Captain," he said, quietly, bowing in the Japanese style. "Youkoso. Welcome."
'Make yourself at home. I'd actually like you to stay, for a long time. As long as possible.'

Juliet Echo EcoThree outfits lay spread out evenly on Juliet's bed so she could study each one closely. She sat about five feet away from her bed, cross-legged, leaning against one of her boxes. She had narrowed the choices down to three dresses – she had a fun little tradition of wearing dresses on first dates – a dark purple party dress straight from the 80's, a cute little black dress ( a classic), and a nice dove-grey baby doll. With a heavy sigh she fell on her side and pulled out her cellphone, checking the time. 4:21. “Better hurry, if you want to get there by five.” She told herself before stuffing her phone back in her bag then crawling over to the bed and lifting the third dress. “You'll do.” Finally, after intense begging and promising, she was in her moms car. The radio read 4:52 before she switched over to her I-pod, blasting whatever song shuffled next. Cursing herself for almost being late, she looked over her shoulder as she backed into the street. 5:12. Not too bad, right? After all, she had only gotten lost once. After checking her makeup one last time in the car mirror, she walked up the drive to what she hoped was the right door. It was A.... right? Deciding to chance it, she knocked and waited. Raiu opened the door soon enough, wearing one of his soft smiles. ”Hello, Captain.” She grinned at the nickname as he bowed. ”Youkoso. Welcome.”“Thanks for having me over.” Imitating his bow, she pointed at her silver high-heeled sandals. “You want me to take these off, then?” Standing back up, she looked over Raiu's shoulder and into his house. Well, she had been expecting it to be artsy, and that it was. Noting the kitchen walls she got this wonderful mental image of Raiu throwing darts every which way, all with a straight face. “Got to hand it to ya, you've got a pretty nice place here, Raiu.”

Raiu Wahei
He opened the door to find Juliet in an interesting gray dress. It reminded him of the French or something of that sort, and revealed her slim legs. That, he liked, and thus decided that meant he liked the dress in general.
Because then, she'd wear it more.
”Hello, Captain.” He bowed, and, since he reveled in her joy at him using Japanese from the time they had met, pressed it a little more. ”Youkoso. Welcome.”
“Thanks for having me over.” She tried his bow, keeping the smile on his face. 'Captain, you're a natural in everything, aren't you?' Juliet pointed to her shoes, and he followed her gesture with his gaze. The silver high-heels brought more attention to her legs, which made his eyes wonder a little but Raiu looked back up into Juliet's face expectantly. “You want me to take these off, then?”
He nodded almost in a bow, his eyes barely leaving her face. "If you don't mind," he said, gently. A smirk came onto his face for a moment before it disappeared and he looked behind himself at the table. There rested the sketch. Hm. Raiu gestured towards it. "I made something for you."
“Got to hand it to ya, you've got a pretty nice place here, Raiu.”
He smiled. "Doumo arigatou gozaimasu. Would you like me to make your dinner now?"

Juliet Echo Eco
”Hello, Captain.” 'Its kind of a silly nickname, really.' She thought to herself while he bowed. 'Though I'm not one to talk. '”Youkoso. Welcome.” Youkoso... that was another way of saying hello, right?
Juliet figured she might as well bow back “Thanks for having me over.” He seemed to like that, cause he was all smiles already. It wasn't that easy last time. Remebering the Japanese custom of taking shoes off at the entrance, she pointed down at her silvery sandles. “You want me to take these off, then?” She noticed his eyes linger, but whatever. He's a boy. Whats a girl to do? Besides, he was courteous enough to look back at her face before answering her.
"If you don't mind," She was already down on the floor, unlacing them quickly and setting them to the side. By the time she was standing again, he was pointing over at the table. "I made something for you."
Well. Thats a little awkward. Ah well.“Seriously? You just keep making all this stuff for me, and I havnt gotten you a thing. Remind me next time. Really." On her way over to the table, she scanned the room. " Got to hand it to ya, you've got a pretty nice place here, Raiu.”
"Doumo arigatou gozaimasu." Stopping to look at the kitchen walls, Juliet smirked and shot Raiu a look. "Been watching Princess Diaries, have we?" Reaching the table, she picked up the sketch to inspect it. It really was gorgeous, just like his other works were. Though she wasn't quite sure if she liked what it might represent. "It's.... wow. Honestly. Remind me to get you something really nice." She said, setting it back down but still staring.
" Would you like me to make your dinner now?" Gosh, he really was a smiley boy. She was starting to think the dark, lonely artist thing was an act. "Sure, if you wanna." She said, situating herself at the table so she had a good view of the kitchen. "I hope you know I expect you to put on a show while making this." She teased as she rested her chin in her palm and her elbow on the table, a grin spreading over her face.

OOC: Gonna skip the cooking bit, since we need to speed this up. XD Sorry if the post is short! BIC:Raiu Wahei"If you don't mind..." While she took off her shoes, Raiu gestured to the kitchen table. "I made something for you." “Seriously? You just keep making all this stuff for me, and I haven't gotten you a thing. Remind me next time. Really." He looked back at her, the ghost of a smile on his face. ' It's more of a compliment than you know, Captain.' " Got to hand it to ya, you've got a pretty nice place here, Raiu.”" Doumo arigatou gozaimasu." Juliet scanned the room and sent him a look. "Been watching Princess Diaries, have we?"Raiu laughed. "The first time I watched it, I yelled at the screen that they'd stolen my idea," he said, his voice low. "I'm still sure they did." She took up the drawing, and Raiu raised his eyebrow a little bit, interested in her opinion. "It's.... wow. Honestly. Remind me to get you something really nice." Her eyes were wide enough to make him smile again. She was so awed by everything... Incredulous. That was the word for it. "Would you like me to make your dinner now?" "Sure, if you wanna." Juliet took a seat at the table as Raiu went into the kitchen and stared back at her a little curiously. "I hope you know I expect you to put on a show while making this." She smiled at him like she was still looking at his drawing. He liked that. "Good," he said, calming his face a little. "Because I'm very good at showing off." ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ Sitting at the table across from her felt so strange. His appetite was fine. That wasn't it. Maybe it was because he'd never been on a date with a girl before. That could be it. Yeah. Well, he liked it anyway. Strange was good sometimes. "Hey, I've drawn things for you, but I've never seen you draw..." He smiled for a moment then fetched her his latest sketchbook. "Give it a try, Captain."

Juliet Echo Eco
Finally making it over the threshold, Juliet took a moment to take in the apartment around her. " Got to hand it to ya, you've got a pretty nice place here, Raiu.” It was small, but it certainly had character. The kitchen walls were splattered paint, and Juliet felt a twinge of jealousy. She herself had always wanted to try that, but had never been allowed as it might have 'hurt the houses resale value'. Raiu thanked her in Japanese before she could ask about it, but better late than never. “Been watching Princess Diaries, have we?”
Juliet rather liked his laugh. It didn't sound forced, but it wasn't loud and obnoxious. Just hearing it made her smile. After all, it was probably even rarer than his smile. "The first time I watched it, I yelled at the screen that they'd stolen my idea I'm still sure they did." “I'm glad I'm not the only one who yells at my Tv,” she said as she picked up her gift. Well, he had done it again. As usual, it was gorgeous. “It's... wow. Honestly. Remind me to get you something really nice.” She was still smiling when he offered her dinner. "Sure, if you wanna." He was being rather straight and to the point about this whole date thing, but maybe that was just how he was in general. Pulling out one of the stools at the table, Juliet positioned herself so she'd be able to watch him as he worked. "I hope you know I expect you to put on a show while making this." In her experience, guys usually took well to challenges.
"Good, because I'm very good at showing off."
~ - ~ - ~ - ~
As usual, it was hard to mind her manners. Juliet was a naturally fast and slightly messy eater, but she refused to show that side while on a dinner date. So she slowly but surely forked the food into her mouth as she stared back at Raiu, who had a rather curious look on his face. Was he really that new to the dating scene?
"Hey, I've drawn things for you, but I've never seen you draw..." Juliet set down her fork and strained her neck to see what he was getting. It was one of those green and white sketchbooks, the ones you can buy for about five bucks at any art supply store. "Give it a try, Captain."
Reluctantly, Juliet took the sketchbook from him and flipped to a blank page, trying not to be intimidated by the already filled ones. “If you insist,” Finding a pencil wasn't to hard, there were a few already on the table along with some markers and a paintbrush. 'He really doesn't do anything but art, does he?' Not that it was a bad thing. She was actually rather impressed by people who had passion for anything. “Just don't disown me if it's awful, alright?”
It wasn't her best work, but Juliet thought she did a rather good job on drawing out one of the coffee cups that sat on the counter. “Mind you,” she told him as she passed the book back into his hands with one hand and pushed some hair behind her ear with the other. “I've never had lessons, and its been like a month since I've even touched a sketchbook.”

Raiu Wahei
"Hey, I've drawn things for you, but I've never seen you draw..." He took up his sketchbook, handing it out to her. "Give it a try, Captain."
She didn't look too thrilled about it, but Captain found a blank page. “If you insist,” she muttered, getting a pencil from the table. “Just don't disown me if it's awful, alright?”
He watched her work. It was interesting... her posture, her face, the way her hand moved. Not used to a lot of interaction with people, Raiu liked to study the form of the people he did meet. Juliet's form was interesting to stay the least... it had some sort of underlining he couldn't get... Then again, everyone had an underlining to their actions. That was what made their faces so emotional.
“Mind you,” she began, handing him back the sketchbook and bringing him out of his thoughts. “I've never had lessons, and its been like a month since I've even touched a sketchbook.”
He didn't smile or anything, just looked at the picture with interest. Well, there wasn't actually anything interesting about a coffee cup, but the way she drew it was different from his own style in a way that made him curious. Yeah, she didn't seem very comfortable with the pencil.... 'Rusty' was the word, but not in such a way as made the sketch itself appear immature.
Just... interesting.
"Not bad," he said, the expression on his face still not coming back. "But I think you can do better than a coffee mug." He smile barely revealed itself in the corner of his mouth as he met Captain's eyes, holding the book out to her again. "Sketch me."
This interaction's on hold for right now

Jessica Seeley
Jessica clenched her white teeth together as she walked quickly up to the door to the small place Clarence had told her he was staying at, fury in her eyes. It had been an entire week since she had heard from him, and she was MAD. He was the one that wanted to be in her daughter's life. HE was the one that said that, and then he just disappears as if her or Quinn didn't exist at all. It was entirely rude and just completely unacceptable in her mind and she had every intention on telling him just that.
She ran her fingers through her already straightened and smooth hair and glared daggers at the door, not even thinking of turning back now. All that she could think of then was getting a chance to yell at the father of her little Quinn, and interrogate him until she finally understood the reason why he was always so careless with the most important thing in the world to her. In her mind, it was the equivalent of him spitting in her face, and she would NOT just stand by and let that happen. She had even called in a temporary nanny, to look after her baby angel while she was gone... as much as that pained her to do. That's one reason she had to make this little 'meeting' quick and to the point, giving him no chance to smooth-talk his way out of trouble.
She curled her long fingers up into a tight fist and hit the door a couple times, still glaring as if he were right there in front of her. Oh yes; he was definitely going to get a piece of her mind today.

Raiu WaheiClarence staying with him had been more than frustrating sometimes. It had -- literally -- been a headache most of the time. He never paid any rent, didn't work -- mostly because he was too much of an exit-hole for anyone to want to hire him -- , and yelled even though he knew it gave Raiu a migraine every time. But, now that he was gone, the house felt kinda lonely. He'd been hanging out with his neighbors more lately, and had even found a kid about his age lived at the end of the block and would be back in a couple weeks, and he was supposed to be really nice and social -- but not loud. That would be a nice change but, in a way, the fact he wouldn't be a thing like Clarence bugged him. Raiu frowned. It had only been a week, but it felt like a long one. And Clarence wouldn't be home until the end of September. Then he'd be leaving again in early October. Unless he got discharged. Raiu smiled a bit ironically at the fact he kind of hoped Clarence was his normal self and got kicked out. It would prove he hadn't changed a bit in the last couple years, contrary to Clarence's own belief. He looked over at the blue couch, smiling a little. He remembered Clarence had gone with him to go pick it out. "I know a thing or two about good couches," he'd boasted, earning only a sideways look from Raiu. "And it'll have to be blue, duh." Unable to pry his stubborn cousin from his decision, they went looking for a blue couch. He also said it had to be long enough for him to sleep on. A six foot tall guy on a tiny couch would not do. Raiu began to wonder who's house they were shopping for. Once they'd gotten to the store, Clarence insisted they didn't need any help, and proceeded to flop on every couch to make sure it 'felt right' until they found the right one. Of course, he'd questioned his cousin's sanity, but Raiu rather liked the couch himself, so they got it. And it looked nice in that little corner empty corner. It used to be inhabited by plants, but those were the ones Clarence had dumped a bunch of soda on... Long story behind that one. He sat down on it, and it felt kind of weird because usually Clarence was holed up on it. He'd really liked that couch... and it was the only space he really kept to when he'd been there. That was when someone knocked on the door, hard. Raiu smirked. Probably Clarence, back from boot camp already. ' Didn't take long. Thank goodness.' But, when he opened the door, it wasn't Clarence at all. It was a pretty blonde lady with a face full of fury. "Um..." He thought for a moment. "Oh, you must be Jessica." Raiu shrugged. "Clarence left about a week ago. Boot camp." He looked in her face and frowned. "He didn't tell you, did he?" Stepping back, he gestured for her to come inside. "Guess that's Clarence. Come on in and I'll give you the details."

Jessica was stunned when the door opened to show some Asian guy instead of Clarence, the one she was expecting to open the door. But she maintained the glare she had on her face, trying to silently warn him that if by chance he was hiding Clarence anywhere so she couldn't get to him, that he would be in trouble right along with him.
"Um..." The stranger looked confused for a moment, then she guessed that he must have recognized her. "Oh, you must be Jessica." She arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms in front of her chest as she waited for an explanation of some sort. "Clarence left about a week ago. Boot camp."
"WHAT?!" she screamed, her arms dropping to her sides in both astonishment and frustration. "He didn't tell you, did he?" He stepped back and she stormed in immediately, looking around to see if he was really there or not. "Guess that's Clarence. Come on in and I'll give you the details."
"I don't care about details." she said honestly but probably a bit too harshly. "I want to know where the low-life scum, father of my daughter is!" She ran her fingers through her hair again, making sure to not mess it up as she did so. "This is ridiculous." she hissed in a low tone before deciding to look in every room in his little apartment.
When she found out he wasn't in any one of them, her anger subsided a bit and she decided to leave it for another day. One where she could get actually get her hands on him. "So great, he just decides to skip town without telling anybody and go to boot camp and try to be an army retard? Good going, Forest! I hope you get blown the heck up!" She yelled at the ceiling, as if her words could carry and he would hear her ranting.
"You knew about this?" she asked, her attention turning towards the Asian guy.

Raiu Wahei
"Um..." He couldn't place her name for a moment. After all, he'd been expecting Clarence to be there, not this lady. "Oh, you must be Jessica." She loomed over him, arms crossed over her chest expectantly. "Clarence left about a week ago. Boot camp."
"WHAT?!"
Raiu cringed a little, the pointing in his head coming in full-force. 'Don't yell or don't come in.' "He didn't tell you, did he?" No sooner had he stepped aside than she stormed in, looking around. 'What? Do you think I could hide someone as big and bulky as Clarence?' He smiled a little. 'Yeah, that's my cousin Clarence. The army said he was too fat at first. That's what he gets for living on Cheetos all through high school.' "Guess that's Clarence. Come on in and I'll give you the details."
"I don't care about details." She was still speaking too loud. "I want to know where the low-life scum, father of my daughter is!"
His eyes narrowed a little. "You yell like Clarence," was all he said in a low voice, shutting the door. She ran her hands through her hair like this was a stressful situation. "And I told you, he's at boot camp."
"This is ridiculous."
She proceeded to look through his whole house. Raiu just smiled a little and laid down on the couch. 'Guess there's no stopping her,' he thought to himself. 'Anyway, at least she's not yelling anymore.'
"So great, he just decides to skip town without telling anybody and go to boot camp and try to be an army retard? Good going, Forest! I hope you get blown the heck up!"
Well, so much for that idea. Raiu rolled his eyes. "The likelihood of him getting blow up at boot camp is very low, I think." He sent her a crooked smile, getting up from the couch now.
"You knew about this?" Jessica was looking at him now, looking a little less angry now. Maybe. Slightly. Never mind.
Raiu nodded, folding his hands behind his head. "He's been gone for a week now. He probably didn't tell you because he figured you'd flip like this. Nice that he left it for me. Just, nice." He shrugged. "Should've figured he'd do this, Jessica. He's a jerk, bred from a jerk." He leaned his head to the side. "So, since he never updates me, how the baby anyway? I hear she's really beautiful."
'I think I'll leave out the 'like her mother' part Clarence added. I figure that was to keep to myself'

"So great, he just decides to skip town without telling anybody and go to boot camp and try to be an army retard? Good going, Forest! I hope you get blown the heck up!" She said, somehow hoping that he could hear her.
"The likelihood of him getting blow up at boot camp is very low, I think." She heard the asian's voice from the couch, then watched him get up and send her a crooked smile, which she gladly returned with a mocking one of her own.
"You knew about this?" Jessica asked, trying to push off her anger on the one she was really angry with, not this new guy. But she was finding it slightly difficult. He knew about her, and her baby so why in god's name didn't he just contact her when the idiot Clarence didn't?
He nodded and her eyes glinted dangerously in reply. He looked so laid back around her, even going ahead and folding his hands behind his head. She arched an eyebrow, feeling the slight urge to go up to him and shove, see how relaxed he would be after THAT. But it was only a slight urge so she didn't intend to act on it. She still needed some answers. "He's been gone for a week now. He probably didn't tell you because he figured you'd flip like this. Nice that he left it for me. Just, nice." He shrugged and she crossed her arms again. "Should've figured he'd do this, Jessica. He's a jerk, bred from a jerk." Her eyes narrowed but she did feel a twinge of sadness from the truth in his words. He was a jerk, and a pig. She was an idiot to think that he would ever change, even if it was for only a second. He leaned his head to the side and she watched silently. "So, since he never updates me, how the baby anyway? I hear she's really beautiful."
She did smile, ever so slightly at the thought of her perfect little angel. "Quinn is beautiful, and she's doing just fine. She cries a lot, but that's normal." She smiled even wider and reached in her pocket, bringing out a slightly wrinkled professional photo of her little angel. She walked to him and let him see. She remembered the day she got it done, actually. Quinn was amazing when it came to photos, she smiled every now and again and there was just a natural beauty about her even when she frowned.
In the photo she was wearing a little green dress that accented the moss color of her eyes, her little angel face bright and happy. Her slightly lopsided smile was too adorable for words. It really was the best picture she had of her so far. Jess loved to boast about her little Quinn, knowing that she was perfect and gorgeous, even if she was so tiny. "Amazing right? She's my pride and joy."

Folding his hands behind his head, Raiu tried to counteract Jessica's anger. "He's been gone for a week now," he said. "He probably didn't tell you because he figured you'd flip like this. Nice that he left it for me. Just, nice." He shrugged, noticing how she stilled looked totally ticked off. He sent her a rather smug look. "Should've figured he'd do this, Jessica. He's a jerk, bred from a jerk."
Her eyes narrowed, but there was something else behind her anger he couldn't quite understand. Clarence did the same thing.
'You two are more alike than I thought you'd be... maybe that's why you two broke up.'
He tilted his head to the side, a little interested. "So, since he never updates me, how the baby anyway? I hear she's really beautiful."
That broke the face of stone just a bit. "Quinn is beautiful, and she's doing just fine," she said, the anger melting. "She cries a lot, but that's normal." She pulled out a picture and held it to him. He sauntered closer, curious.
Raiu slowly smiled. "Well, at least Clarence isn't a liar," he said, stepping back. "She's as beautiful as he said she was."
"Amazing right? She's my pride and joy."
"I can see why." 'She looks a lot like her father...' Raiu looked around the room as if it held something interesting. "Hey, listen. He'll be back on the twenty-fourth of September. Feel free to come in here and beat him up at will, just do it outside."
'And no more yelling in my house. Got it?'
He shrugged. "Guess you should be going or something..."

NIC: media1.santabanta.com/full2/global%20celebrities%28f%29/sarah%20michelle%20gellar/sarah-michelle-gellar-31v.jpg BIC: Jessica SeeleyJessica smiled as she walked up to Raiu's apartment, holding Quinn to her hip. She was wearing one of her designer dresses, wanting to look extra nice since she hadn't actually left her house for a while. It was always her style to leave an impression with everyone she met, looking her best as often as she could. And when she couldn't, she either did her best and went anyway, or stayed home. The dress itself looked average to her at first, and she almost ended up leaving it at the store. But when she put it on it was like magic and she had fallen in love with the soft fabric. It was tight around her body, but the sleeves were loose and flowing, making it look different than usual dresses, but not in a bad way. It was a masterpiece, pretty much made for her body- and she wouldn't have it any other way. Also, Jess wore hoop earrings that she had to be careful Quinn didn't grab onto while she held her. That had happened once and it had hurt a lot, but she didn't blame her baby girl, she couldn't have known that. All she saw was something to play with. Her hair was straightened to go with the more streamlined part of the dress and she put a light purple-grey on her eyelids. She never really did much in the way of blush and everything. She wanted to look more like a human, not a doll. So she just put on foundation and a light lip gloss that only served to make her lips look shiny. To top it all off, she wore a pair of black high heels that matched the darker shade on her eyelids. Over all, when she critiqued herself- she looked stunning. Maybe it was too dressy for just going for a visit, but she didn't care. Jess knew she looked amazing, and that was all that mattered as far as that went. "Are you ready to see uncle Rai?" she asked, brushing Quinn's soft hair lightly with her fingertips before knocking on the door. She just giggled in reply, her little hand reaching out to touch the door like her mommy did. Jess smiled wider.
