The Vagabond Theater is a locally owned theater with one very large, giant, massive.... (you get it) silver screen. It'll hold about 200 or so people in its seats, which are all recently reupholstered and are overly plush for theater seats. The floor is sloped slightly in a stadium manner, but the slope is so slight there are no stairs in the cinema. One film may show here in the morning-- the much cheaper tickets-- and another in the evening, which is twice as much for a ticket. Often times the later movie is a new one, a blockbuster, but other times it may be a big sports event, or an opera, or a holiday film classic. Early movies usually include black and white films, silent movies, old Disney and animated classics, or even a Star Wars Trilogy marathon if you find them on a lucky day. Since the theater is family owned, one of the Williamson family members will be manning the box office, and someone else from the clan behind the concessions. The concessions here, by the way, are much less expensive than other places and are all freshly made: popcorn, nachos, soft pretzels, cinnamon twists, and pickles.

Today, the plan would be: while Yukito worked, Erin would waste time at the movies until he was off work, and then they'd see a movie together. She didn't mind so much; there was a promise of a fun date with him, and she liked watching random movies for cheap prices in the meantime. It wouldn't be too long, anyway, and there were lots of people around to talk to in between (and during) showings. She was only actually watching one movie while she waited for Yukito, and the rest of the time would be total socializing in the lobby-- something she'd craved desperately lately.
Now Erin was in line waiting at the box office for the dude behind the counter to finally cave and start selling tickets for the show, whatever it was today. Erin hadn't even bothered to look it up. It couldn't be too bad, what with the line of people already waiting. As long as she wasn't in for watching some kind of Civil War documentary or something. But from the looks of those around her, it didn't look like it. She smiled to herself, peering around the people around her to try to get a look at the marquee. Back to the Future, it read, and she laughed a little to herself. The movie had been on TV a few times around the house and she only remembered bits and pieces from it... a crazy-haired Einstein-like guy, a cute and young Michael J Fox, and a clock and a burning road. That was about the extent of her memories of it. She wondered if she'd pay attention to it in the theater, or if she'd get to whisper goofy comments with her theater-mates meanwhile. And eat nachos and popcorn. Thank goodness it was a cheap theater. She bounced a little on her feet, waiting as best as she could.

Chance Savege
With a fortunate afternoon free, thanks to his superior acting skills and some good luck, Chance wandered over to the Vagabond Theater, eager to watch something old and awesome. It just so happened that Back To The Future was playing. Chance smirked as he glanced around the cozy little theatre. It was small and kind of too close for him. But it was fantastically priced, and had tasty snacks. Yes, the snacks were one of his favorite parts. He stood in line with a pocketful off cash, his mouth watering and his stomach growling for nachos, pretzels, and cinnamon twists. He ordered three of everything and was walking away before he spotted Erin in line, bouncing on her feet. She was a pretty girl. Chance had watched her half-dancing past him more than once, her lips moving along with the words to a song that she heard only in her head. He thought she was very cute, then. Or at least when her brow furrowed and her lips pouted a little whenever she did her homework or was texting on her phone. But even better about Erin was how fun she was to be around. There wasn't a bunch of that useless drama when she was hanging, at any point their paths crossed. So even knowing that she was taken was cool with him. He hopped a little on the spot, waving frantically at her, beaming.
"Erin, Erin! Hey-hey Eeeeeerin!" he sang out loudly, making a few people glance over at him. He raced over to her side, his arms full of the foodstuffs he'd managed to waste money on. The cinnamon substance from the twists was already getting stuck to his pale yellow Hello Kitty T-shirt. "What're you doing here? I haven't seen you in forever! What have you been up to, huh?" He gave her a friendly once-over, then winked, "You're looking hot, by the way. Who's this foreign guy I heard about, hmm?" He let out a happy gasp, wanting to reach out and grab her hand but realizing - just in time - that his arms were full, so he just jumped a little, "Will you sit next to me? You're watching Back To The Future, right? If your boyfriend is here, I can share you. As long as he shares with me." He paused, seeming to notice what he had said, then laughed and held out his snacks like a proud toddler with a favorite toy, "Snacks, that is. I totally meant snacks." He leaned over to lean his head on her shoulder. "If you want to accept a kiss of apology, I'll willingly give that to you." Before she could argue, he gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Ahh.." he shook his head playfully, "Such torture. I'll never do it again." Then he kissed the other cheek. "Painful. Okay, okay. I'm seriously done this time. I just missed you, girlie!"

She was too distracted with people watching to notice the familiar face she'd seen around in school before. In fact, Chance had to call her name several times before she snapped out of her daydreaming and found him, arms full of everything he could buy from the concessions people.
"Eeeeeerin!"
The sight made her start laughing, and she waved. "Hiii!"
"What're you doing here? I haven't seen you in forever! What have you been up to, huh?"
"Um, it's a movie," she said, grinning, gesturing to the doors that had just opened to giving out tickets. "Finally!" she announced, pretending to be more exasperated than she really was, and laughing a little. "I know, I haven't seen you in forever either!"
Chance looked her up and down and winked, and she rolled her eyes at him with a smile. "You're looking hot, by the way. Who's this foreign guy I heard about, hmm?"
Erin was still grinning from the frank flattery. "That would be my boyfriend. He's from Japan," she rattled off automatically. Erin wondered fleetingly if it would ever grow old for her to talk about him, if she would quit feeling that surge of pride and admiration about him. And she hoped it wouldn't fade. "His name's Yukito and we have an apartment together and I'm just--"
Chance suddenly let out a gasp and Erin halted mid-sentence, taken off-guard. He jumped a little where he stood, somehow managing not to lose his armload of snacks. "Will you sit next to me? You're watching Back To The Future, right? If your boyfriend is here, I can share you. As long as he shares with me." He paused, and they both started laughing at the faux pas. "Snacks, that is. I totally meant snacks." He leaned over to lean his head on her shoulder, Erin still laughing a little. "No, he's still at work... he's gonna come later, though, and we're gonna have a movie date," she added brightly.
"If you want to accept a kiss of apology, I'll willingly give that to you." Erin was about to point out that a n apology kiss was usually something saved for boyfriends, but Chance had his own agenda-- luckily his idea of a kiss of apology was a peck on her cheek, and Erin started laughing again. "Ahh.." he shook his head playfully, "Such torture. I'll never do it again." Then he kissed the other cheek, only furthering Erin's mirth. "Chance!"
"Painful. Okay, okay. I'm seriously done this time. I just missed you, girlie!"
Erin put one arm around Chance in a half-hug (a full hug would squish his purchases). "I know, I'm sorry! I'm not at that school anymore, soo... you're just gonna have to make an effort to hang out with me." She smiled. "Oh, it's my turn! Do you have your ticket? I need mine..." Erin went up to the window and retrieved her ticket, then turned back to Chance. "Were you serious about sharing? 'Cause I don't think you actually bought all that just for you, right?" she asked with a grin. "That can be your apology for your apology," Erin giggled, purely joking.

She didn't see him at first, but he liked the way her eyes sparkled with recognition moments after they made eye contact, seeing him bounce delightedly before moving over to her. Erin let out a little ring of laughter, and waved back with fervor that almost mirrored his own. "Hiii!"
"What're you doing here? I haven't seen you in forever! What have you been up to, huh?"
"Um, it's a movie," she said, grinning, gesturing to the doors that had just opened to giving out tickets. Chance rolled his eyes and let out a little 'Pfffft..' sound as if to say he had to ask anyway. "Finally!" she exclaimed, exasperated but still giggling as she moved forward to the counter to buy her ticket. "I know, I haven't seen you in forever either!"
Chance looked her up and down and winked, and she rolled her eyes at him with a smile, quick to catch his meaning. "You're looking hot, by the way. Who's this foreign guy I heard about, hmm?"
Erin grinned. "That would be my boyfriend. He's from Japan," Chance's jaw opened a little in pleasant surprise. "Really, now?! Oooooh where is he? Can I see?" He looked around, searching for any Japan-looking guy. Chance didn't exactly expect he'd be wearing a kimono or whatever and waving a Japanese flag around, but he figured he'd look foreign, at least. They always did. "His name's Yukito and we have an apartment together and I'm just--"
Chance let out a gasp, not having heard her comment about the apartment. He bounced on the spot, excited by the prospect of enjoying the movie with a good, entertaining friend who wouldn't look at him weird the whole time. "Will you sit next to me? You're watching Back To The Future, right? If your boyfriend is here, I can share you. As long as he shares with me." He paused, and they both started laughing. "Snacks, that is. I totally meant snacks." He leaned over to lean his head on her shoulder, Erin still laughing a little.
"No, he's still at work... he's gonna come later, though, and we're gonna have a movie date," she added brightly.
"If you want to accept a kiss of apology, I'll willingly give that to you." Before she could respond, he touched his lips to her cheek, sending her into bouts of laughter again that made him feel very accomplished. "Ahh.." he shook his head playfully, "Such torture. I'll never do it again." Then he kissed the other cheek, eager to continue the game, as long as she kept giggling like that.
"Chance!"
"Painful. Okay, okay. I'm seriously done this time. I just missed you, girlie!"
Erin put one arm around Chance in a half-hug, and he held tightly - almost possessively - onto his food purchases. "I know, I'm sorry! I'm not at that school anymore, soo... you're just gonna have to make an effort to hang out with me." She smiled. Chance had always been sure that smile would turn a few heads, and she always gave it so easily.
"Yeaaaah, what's with that, huh?" The question was spoken flippantly, but he guessed there was something serious behind it. As much as Erin whined and complained with the best of them about the evils of school, Erin wouldn't have dropped out on a dime. Her dad working at the school was certainly a help in that.
"Oh, it's my turn! Do you have your ticket? I need mine..." Erin went up to the window and retrieved her ticket, then turned back to Chance, and he slipped in, shuffling his foodstuffs so he could buy his. Seeing his struggle - he was fortunate only to drop a box of skittles that were hard to keep a grip on - she asked, "Were you serious about sharing? 'Cause I don't think you actually bought all that just for you, right?" she asked with a grin. "That can be your apology for your apology," Chance sent her a smug look.
"I'm a growing boy, though!" He lifted his chin in pompous and playful pride, digging through his pocket for the wrinkly dollar bills and holding them awkwardly out for the ticketmaster to take. "Thanks!" he said with a grin, turning to walk with Erin to their film.
"I guess I can share my Starbursts with you. Those always stick to my teeth the whole time... I use them instead of tictacs, though. They make you smell all fruity and stuff." He looked up at her, laughed, and handed her at least half his wares. "Fine, we'll share fifty-fifty, but you have to tell me the goods on your foreign guy." He wriggled his eyebrows, the darker brown against his lighter-colored hair creating a contrast to show off his forehead-muscle control. "He'll win points for having an accent, but he's already lost some for leaving you alone for a guy like me to find." He let out a playful little chuckle, nudging her lightly with his shoulder.

Erin put one arm around Chance in a half-hug, apologizing for her absence as of late. "I know, I'm sorry! I'm not at that school anymore, soo... you're just gonna have to make an effort to hang out with me," she finished with a bright smile.
"Yeaaaah, what's with that, huh?" Chance asked, and a little jolt of discomfort went through her at the thought of having to explain herself. Eve Yukito didn't fully get it-- how could she explain it to Chance? Luckily her approach to the ticket window saved Erin from having to answer.
"Oh, it's my turn! Do you have your ticket? I need mine..." After she paid for hers, Chance made the cumbersome effort to scoot to the window and get his own ticket, a box of Skittles hitting the ground in the meantime. She giggled as she scooped it up and delicately set it back on top is pile, precariously balanced. "Were you serious about sharing? 'Cause I don't think you actually bought all that just for you, right?" she asked with a grin. "That can be your apology for your apology," she suggested perkily.
"I'm a growing boy, though!" Chance argued playfully as he struggled to receive his own ticket.
"Aw... I thought we were friends!" she said with a little pout, before breaking character and falling into a laugh. Chance caved.
"I guess I can share my Starbursts with you."
"Yay!" She reached out for the pack of Starbursts, and Chance continued: "Those always stick to my teeth the whole time... I use them instead of tictacs, though. They make you smell all fruity and stuff." Erin started laughing, knowing it was perfectly true and automatically thinking of how nice the pink ones smelt when you ate them, too. Chance laughed with er, passing along some of his things that he was willing to share, and Erin received them gratefully. "Fine, we'll share fifty-fifty, but you have to tell me the goods on your foreign guy."
Erin rolled her eyes, grinning. "You ask so much of me!" She laughed again. "All right, I cave! What do you want to know?"
Chance made a face, as if he knew something she didn't, and was tempted to tell her. "He'll win points for having an accent, but he's already lost some for leaving you alone for a guy like me to find." He gave Erin a nudge, the both of them laughing a little. "He had to, Chance! He's at work, I told you..." She nudged him back, and turned her attention to opening up the pack of Starbursts he gave her, examining the little orange cube for a moment before plucking off the paper and sticking it in her mouth. When the fruity cube was out of the way enough, Erin told him, "Yukito works over at that music store, Seeing Red? Like the Chevelle song?" She laughed again, then went on, happy to loiter in the lobby with snacks and Chance and ramble about what made her happy until the movie actually started. Only just now were people filing in for seats. She was fine with missing the advertisements or anything. "He's 19, and he graduated last year and started working there, and now we're living over by UNO in one of the apartments over there, and, oh, hey--!" She shuffled her newly acquired snacks enough to reach in her pocket for her keys, showing Chance her favorite picture of them together that she kept to show everyone now. "Isn't he one of the most beautiful people you've ever seen?" she gushed, caving into her impulse to speak all her flattering thoughts about him that she was sure he would hate to hear if he was standing with her now. "He plays with Veritas now, too, and he's just, like, wow, amazingly talented, you know? And he's so good at everything he tries, and so much fun to be around, and so sweet, and--" Erin fell into giggling again, and popped another Starburst into her mouth, wrapper still on. It was a twofold ploy-- one, because the challenge was ridiculous and random and fun, and two, because she felt like she might be gushing just a little too much, Erin thought, remembering being on the receiving end of bubbling conversations like this that were really more like monologues.
After a moment of effort, Erin turned and took out the wrapper, quickly tossing it in the nearest can but quite proud with her summer-camp-like accomplishment. "I win!" she announced laughingly, adding the lemon flavor to the remnants of orange she thought she could still taste. She started singing "We Are the Champions", but making it singular so she was only singing about herself, then started laughing again mid-phrase. "I had to try!" she said in playful defense. "They're Starbursts!"

"I guess I can share my Starbursts with you."
"Yay!" Came Erin's jubilant cry as she snatched up the candy. Chance smirked at her playfully, and they turned to enjoy their snacks.
"Those always stick to my teeth the whole time... I use them instead of tictacs, though. They make you smell all fruity and stuff." They both laughed at that, neither denying it - because fact was fact. And fruity was fruity. Chanced rifled through his plunder, handing off what he was willing to part with and passing it to Erin, who clung to them almost as greedily as he did. "Fine, we'll share fifty-fifty, but you have to tell me the goods on your foreign guy."
Erin rolled her eyes, grinning. "You ask so much of me!" She laughed again. "All right, I cave! What do you want to know?"
Chance made a face, then, "He'll win points for having an accent, but he's already lost some for leaving you alone for a guy like me to find." He gave Erin a nudge, the both of them laughing a little.
"He had to, Chance! He's at work, I told you..." She nudged him back, starting a casual nudge-war back and forth. Chance glanced over just as she popped an orange one in her mouth. He frowned.
"Aww...why did I go through all the trouble of showing you the wrapper-tongue trick?" he complained. It had been a laughter-filled afternoon while they tried to complete the challenge. It had been worth all the jaw-aches later. And he had probably acquired a couple dozen cavities, too, while in the making of that lovely skill.
"Yukito works over at that music store, Seeing Red? Like the Chevelle song?" She laughed again, continuing at the raised eyebrow he sent her way. "He's 19," Chance made a little 'Woooooh!' sound, molding his lips into an O shape. "..And he graduated last year and started working there, and now we're living over by UNO in one of the apartments over there, and, oh, hey--!" She shuffled her newly acquired snacks enough to reach in her pocket for her keys, showing Chance a picture of her and her guy. He tilted his head to the side, thinking the guy looked kind of familiar. Then, he noted their faces, and a beam broke out across his face faster than a whip, and his eyes started to shimmer.
"Aaaaaaw! You guys look so freaking happy!" he cooed, leaning down for a closer look.
"Isn't he one of the most beautiful people you've ever seen?" Chance giggled, nodding, "Dude...shyeah...Now I'm jealous. I can't look that cute and Asian." He pouted his lips, working them to try and mimic Yukito's pair.
"He plays with Veritas now, too, and he's just, like, wow, amazingly talented, you know? And he's so good at everything he tries, and so much fun to be around, and so sweet, and--" Chance grinned up at her with a knowing expression, seeing the totally giddy infatuation there. She giggled as if she was on some sort of happy drug, tossing another Starburst in - this time with the wrapper still on. Chance leapt forward to snag a yellow one himself, tossing it in, too, and trying to race with her. She pulled her wrapper out first, and he made a, "Daw!" sound as best as he could with the Starburst in his mouth. It wasn't a very smart move, because then he practically gagged on the paper.
"I win!" she announced laughingly, then started in on a cocky 'I Am The Champion'. In response, mid-laughter, Chance feigned 'bowing' towards her, muttering, "And thus, the student surpasses the Mastah!"
"I had to try!" she said in playful defense. "They're Starbursts!"
"I knoooooow!" he giggled, bumping up against her playfully. "Hey, can I look at the rest of your photos?" he pointed toward the keychain with an eager gleam in his eye.

"All right, I cave!" Erin laughed. "What do you want to know?"
Chance made a face, then, "He'll win points for having an accent, but he's already lost some for leaving you alone for a guy like me to find." He gave Erin a nudge, the both of them laughing a little.
"He had to, Chance!" Erin objected, still laughing. "He's at work, I told you..." She nudged him back again, then invested a moment in eating a Starburst.
"Aww...why did I go through all the trouble of showing you the wrapper-tongue trick?" he complained, making Erin's fce brighten with an idea.
"Yukito works over at that music store, Seeing Red?" Erin carried on easily. "Like the Chevelle song? He's 19," She paused only for half a second to grin wider at the look on Chance's face. "...And he graduated last year and started working there, and now we're living over by UNO in one of the apartments over there, and, oh, hey--!" Carefully, she scrambled for the little digital photo album that never left her whenever she was out, and to her great pleasure and pride, Chance automatically started cooing over them.
"Aaaaaaw! You guys look so freaking happy!"
She beamed. "Isn't he one of the most beautiful people you've ever seen?" Chance giggled, nodding, "Dude...shyeah...Now I'm jealous. I can't look that cute and Asian." He pouted, and Erin started snickering, giving him a bewildered smile. "What are you doing? Of course you won't look Asian, but you can look cute and white!"
She laughed again, plunging on, "He plays with Veritas now, too, and he's just, like, wow, amazingly talented, you know? And he's so good at everything he tries, and so much fun to be around, and so sweet, and--" She paused suddenly and popped another Starburst in, still in the wrapper. Knowingly, Chance followed her lead, and they started on their silent agreed competition, Erin determined to be fist. His lament of loss made Erin laugh through its distortion from the candy.
"I win!" she announced laughingly, singing her version of a victory song.
Chance mock-bowed, encouraging her grin. "And thus, the student surpasses the Mastah!"
"I had to try!" she said in playful defense. "They're Starbursts!"
"I knoooooow!" he giggled, starting up their nudging again. She nudged back. "Hey, don't nudge me," she teased, sticking her tongue out at him childishly.
"Hey, can I look at the rest of your photos?" Chance asked, pointing at her keychain.
"Sure!" she chirped, handing the little device to him, her copies of Yukito's car key and the apartment's key jingling in the gesture. "Look, there's us at Christmas," Erin said, hovering a bit over him as Chance browsed and giving commentary. "And at Voodoo Fest... and more Voodoo... and," she giggled, "More Voodoo... Oh, and that one's my favorite," she said perkily about one of the pictures Erin had taken of their kiss. "He's my favorite, too," Erin added with giggles. She could be ridiculous and silly about Yukito around Chance and it was totally okay, and Erin was taking full advantage of that.

"What are you doing? Of course you won't look Asian, but you can look cute and white!"
Chance continued to try to pout in distress, but the corners of his lips twitched incessantly, struggling for their usual freedom. "Yeah. B-but... I still wish I was cute and Asian!"
She laughed again, plunging on, "He plays with Veritas now, too, and he's just, like, wow, amazingly talented, you know? And he's so good at everything he tries, and so much fun to be around, and so sweet, and--" They took a momentary break from conversation so they could have a Starburst unwrapping war, which Erin ended with a triumphant shout and a start into 'I Am The Champion'. Chance gave a bow, and they continued to laugh and comment along with the game, making no real progress toward the theater. "Hey, don't nudge me!" She complained, and he smiled, nudging her again.
"Hey, can I look at the rest of your photos?" Chance asked, pointing at her keychain.
"Sure!" she chirped, and he took it from her to scroll through the tiny images. Erin hovered over his shoulder, pointing out which photo was which. "Look, there's us at Christmas. And at Voodoo Fest... and more Voodoo... and,"
"What the heck are you guys dressed up as, exactly?!" Chance practically squealed, having his guesses but careful not to voice them until Erin just told him.
"More Voodoo... Oh, and that one's my favorite," Chance beamed down at the two of them, kissing dramatically with Yukito holding Erin tipped backward. "He's my favorite, too," Erin added with giggles.
Chance rolled his eyes, "Darlin', I should hope so. If you didn't, I would..." He paused, arched an eyebrow, "Or is it, if you don't, I will? Or...if you didn't, I'd be worried?" He thought about it, then gave a nod, "Though you'd probably be my favorite before he was, even if he is cute and Asian. And zomigosh talented and stuff." Another roll of his eyes, and he nudged her again. "I'm glad you're so happy!" He looked down at the photo again, that was Erin's favorite. It was hard to look at it and not smile at their expressions, the way they held each other. He hoped it wasn't just a fleeting thing, that Erin had seriously found someone. It sounded like she had. But lots of relationships got torn up. It was almost as heartbreaking for him as it was for the actual couple, each time he heard about the nasty fight they'd had, or the lies discovered. What could he do? He couldn't fix it, he couldn't change it.
"I actually met this Asian guy a while ago," he mentioned, handing the keys back to her. "A really dorky, adorable guy. Named Kakitey or something like that." He lifted one shoulder. "Their names are so confusing..."

She continued her monologue. "More Voodoo... Oh, and that one's my favorite." The one where he was holding her like a princess, kissing her like a rock star. It was perfect. "He's my favorite, too," she giggled.
Chance rolled his eyes, making Erin grin. "Darlin', I should hope so. If you didn't, I would..." He paused, arched an eyebrow, Erin echoing the gesture. "Or is it, if you don't, I will? Or...if you didn't, I'd be worried?"
Erin rolled her eyes as if to say, "who cares?!", while laughing the whole while. "What? Whatever...!"
"Though you'd probably be my favorite before he was, even if he is cute and Asian. And zomigosh talented and stuff."
"Good," Erin said with a playful out. "The way it should be."
Another roll of his eyes, and he nudged her again. "I'm glad you're so happy!"
"Me, too!" she gushed as Chance kept staring at her picture keychain. She grinned proudly.
"I actually met this Asian guy a while ago," he mentioned, handing the keys back to her.
She took them and placed them proudly back into the pocket of her jeans. And then laughed. "Because all Asian guys know each other, right?"
Chance continued. "A really dorky, adorable guy. Named Kakitey or something like that." He lifted one shoulder in a half-shrug as Erin cooed, "Oooh..." She was just about to announce excitedly, "I know him!!", bouncing on her feet as she waited impatiently for Chance to finish. "Their names are so confusing..."
"Kagayaki!" Erin chirped, grabbing Chance's shoulder with one of her hands. "Was it Kagayaki? I know him! He knows Yukito, too! They were in a band together back in Japan!" She couldn't stop bouncing now in her excitement. She started laughing. "I'd totally start singing It's a Small World, but then the song'll be stuck in my head the rest of the day." Erin wrinkled her nose distastefully.

"What the heck are you guys dressed up as, exactly?!" Chance practically squealed, making Erin laugh.
"Isn't it obvious? You tell me!" He blew out his cheeks at the photo, thinking.
"It looks like Michael Jackson making out with a hot zombie." He laughed openly, smiling at the keychain. It was easy to let the casual rapport between him and Erin continue, the playfulness and giggles punctuating each comment. "I actually met this Asian guy a while ago," he mentioned, handing the keys back to her.
She took them and placed them proudly back into the pocket of her jeans. And then laughed. "Because all Asian guys know each other, right?"
"It's a conspiracy! Asians are overtaking the world! And they're doing it by looking cute and Asian!" He shook his head, "This guy was cute, I know. A really dorky, adorable guy. Named Kakitey or something like that." He lifted one shoulder, seeing the lights starting to shimmer in Erin's eyes, barely containing her excitement. It kept him grinning.
"Oooh..." she cooed, "I know him!!"
"Their names are so confusing..."
"Kagayaki! Was it Kagayaki?" Erin chirped, grabbing Chance's shoulder with one of her hands, not able to hold back anymore.
"Yeah! I think that was it!" he gasped, his mouth wide with his grin as he took hold of her shoulder, mirroring her movement. The treats in his arms shifted dangerously.
"I know him! He knows Yukito, too! They were in a band together back in Japan!"
Chance's draw dropped, and he clutched his heart dramatically, "Shut up! You mean to tell me all Asians do know each other! Oh mah ga-a-awsh!" Erin started bouncing, her feet little springs and her hair bouncing against her cheeks while they both laughed at the utter coincidence. All Chance could do was echo himself, "Oh mah gawsh!"
"I'd totally start singing It's a Small World, but then the song'll be stuck in my head the rest of the day." Erin wrinkled her nose distastefully. Chance giggled.
"Girlfriend, don't even go there.." He was still absolutely tickled. "Wow..imagine. I mean, it's the same city and all, but...wow... Haha." He arched an eyebrow at her, smirking impishly, "Girlfriend, your boyfriend's bandmate is an absolute doll Can I get his number? Huh? Huuuuh? I want to spam him with texts that say 'forward this eight people you would kiss and see who responds!' or 'find out how many wives and husbands you have for the week' forwards and crap!" Chance sent her a completely enamored look at the very idea.
He looked up toward the people filing in toward their cheap movie, and his grin grew broad enough to crinkle his eyes. "Okay, so your boyfriend is the fox and his bandboy is the cutie." He paused, and laughed, "This totally rocks! I love it! Don't you just adore the way he crinkles his face when you talk too fast? And he seemed so sweet...and heartbroken...did he just break up with someone or something?" He gasped, "Omigooooosh!"

"I actually met this Asian guy a while ago," Chance said, handing her key back to her.
She took them and placed them proudly back into the pocket of her jeans. And then laughed. "Because all Asian guys know each other, right?"
"It's a conspiracy! Asians are overtaking the world! And they're doing it by looking cute and Asian!" Erin had to close her eyes she was laughing so hard, stifling it just enough to hear Chance continue, "This guy was cute, I know. A really dorky, adorable guy. Named Kakitey or something like that."
"Oooh... I know him!!" Erin chimed in excitedly.
"Their names are so confusing..."
"Kagayaki! Was it Kagayaki?" She took his shoulder in her hand, practically squealing.
"Yeah! I think that was it!" he gasped, clasping her shoulder with one of his hands and sending a few of his treats tilting, his excitement coupling with Erin's to make her feel like she'd just gotten a birthday present.
"I know him!" she nearly shouted. "He knows Yukito, too! They were in a band together back in Japan!"
Chance's draw dropped, and he clutched his heart dramatically. "Shut up! You mean to tell me all Asians do know each other! Oh mah ga-a-awsh!" Erin started bouncing, laughing, holding tightly to the food Chance wanted to share with her while keeping her excited grip on his shoulder. "Oh mah gawsh!"
"I'd totally start singing It's a Small World, but then the song'll be stuck in my head the rest of the day." Erin wrinkled her nose distastefully. Chance giggled.
"Girlfriend, don't even go there.."
"Oh, I done and gone there!" she retorted dramatically, giggling herself. "You want me to hum it for you, too?" she challenged.
"Wow..imagine. I mean, it's the same city and all, but...wow... Haha."
Erin let go of his shoulder, twirling hair around one of her fingers. "I know!! Isn't it incredible?" she echoed, giggling.
Chance gave her an impish grin. "Girlfriend, your boyfriend's bandmate is an absolute doll Can I get his number? Huh? Huuuuh? I want to spam him with texts that say 'forward this eight people you would kiss and see who responds!' or 'find out how many wives and husbands you have for the week' forwards and crap!"
The look on his face made Erin laugh even more. "Cha-ance!" she drawled. "I can't believe you even still read those things!"
Chance just grinned. "Okay, so your boyfriend is the fox and his bandboy is the cutie."
Erin giggled. "'Fox'... I'll have to use that one..." Yukito would probably turn beat-red at it. Yeah, she'd totally have to tease him with it, then.
"This totally rocks!" Chance announced, laughing still. Yeah, being around him was definitely gonna extend her life or something with how much they laughed. "I love it! Don't you just adore the way he crinkles his face when you talk too fast? And he seemed so sweet...and heartbroken...did he just break up with someone or something?" He gasped, "Omigooooosh!"
Erin couldn't help but toss her head backward as she laughed at that, seeing the dim lights of the ceiling floating above. "Chance! No! He's taken! By my best friend!" She lifted her head and pointed a finger at him, trying to look stern, but her mouth still stressed itself into a smile. "Not for you." Chance's other words hit her then, and Erin's expression shifted dubiously. "And what do you mean heartbroken? Why'd he be heartbroken? Don't be so dramatic," she said, disregarding the observation with the wave of her hand.

Chance Savege
Chance gave her an impish grin. "Girlfriend, your boyfriend's bandmate is an absolute doll! Can I get his number? Huh? Huuuuh? I want to spam him with texts that say 'forward this eight people you would kiss and see who responds!' or 'find out how many wives and husbands you have for the week' forwards and crap!"
Erin burst out in laughter that was ten times more rewarding than an entire audience's approving applause. "Cha-ance!" she drawled merrily. "I can't believe you even still read those things!"
Chance just grinned. "Okay, so your boyfriend is the fox and his bandboy is the cutie."
Erin giggled. "'Fox'... I'll have to use that one..."
“Can I be there when you use it?” Chance stuck out his tongue in playfulness, failing to allow the laughter to subside for even a moment. "This totally rocks! I love it! Don't you just adore the way he crinkles his face when you talk too fast? And he seemed so sweet...and heartbroken...did he just break up with someone or something?" He gasped, "Omigooooosh!"
Actually throwing her head back to let out a thick, unbridled laugh, Erin cried, "Chance! No! He's taken! By my best friend!" She lifted her head and pointed a finger at him, trying to look stern, but her mouth still stressed itself into a smile. "Not for you."
Chance's face fell into the epitome of despair, dramatically switching accents to a voice vaguely reminiscence of George Bailey, his hands clasped in prayer before her, barely clinging to his snacks cradled in both arms, “Wha-a-at?! Aw, Erin, you can't do this to me! Please, sugar! I'll do anything!” A box of Reeses clattered to the floor, and though he looked heartbroken, the sparkle still hadn't left his eyes, “Can't ya do a gal a favor, doll?”
Erin's expression shifted dubiously. "And what do you mean heartbroken? Why'd he be heartbroken? Don't be so dramatic," she said, disregarding the observation with the wave of her hand. Chance pouted, his lips bouncing back and forth in a feeble attempt at quivering.
“Aw, you wound me..” he led the way into the theatre at last, the two of them sitting in a seat of Erin's choosing. Chance precariously arranged his snacks around him in the dark, feeling around to make sure everything was there. Leaning close to Erin's face, he added, “And he said something about feeling torn up about some stuff and wanting to learn to just be himself. Frankly, I couldn't understand half of it, but he was soooo cute!” Chance wriggled in his seat from the memory, giggling to himself. Then, sobering up for a moment to send Erin a frown, he added, “I did really like him, Erin...” He let out a few whimpers as the movie started to play.

Erin Spenser
"Okay," Chance said. "So your boyfriend is the fox and his bandboy is the cutie."
Erin giggled. "'Fox'... I'll have to use that one..."
“Can I be there when you use it?” Chance asked, making her crack up into laughter again. Yukito would probably turn beat red, which was really, really adorable, actually, even though she wasn't going to tell him that. "This totally rocks! I love it! Don't you just adore the way he crinkles his face when you talk too fast? And he seemed so sweet...and heartbroken...did he just break up with someone or something?" Erin blinked, startled and thoroughly amused even as he gasped, "Omigooooosh!"
The comment made Erin burst into more laughter, unabashed. "Chance! No! He's taken! By my best friend!" She lifted her head and pointed a finger at him, trying to look stern, but her mouth still stressed itself into a smile. "Not for you."
Dramatically, Chance collapsed into a tragic stance, barely keeping his purchases from crashing and scattering as he begged. “Wha-a-at?! Aw, Erin, you can't do this to me! Please, sugar! I'll do anything!”
Erin's laughter only bubbled even further when he begged that way, and even as he sent one of his overly-priced candies to the floor, she was laughing as she swept down to pick it up.
“Can't ya do a gal a favor, doll?” Chance pressed, making her giggle more as she shook her head. She "hid" the Reeses behind her back with her free hand. "Not toda-ay!" she sang out.
Then Chance's words registering, Erin asked a bit more shadily. "And what do you mean heartbroken? Why'd he be heartbroken? Don't be so dramatic," she said, waving away his comment with her hand.
“Aw, you wound me..” Once they were settled in their seats, Chance leaned toward her conspiratorially and added, “And he said something about feeling torn up about some stuff and wanting to learn to just be himself. Frankly, I couldn't understand half of it, but he was soooo cute!”
Erin cocked her eyebrow curiously. "Um, yeah, I don't get it either, but okay!" She wondered if Kagayaki had talked to Yukito about whatever he thought to share with Chance, a practical stranger to him. Of course, Kagayaki would probably tell anything to anyone who seemed nice enough, like Chance did. He was a good judge of character, then, at least, Erin supposed. She also wondered if he'd talked to Cassie, or why he hadn't brought it up to her, his unofficial sister. She pouted a little in thought as the opening credits rolled.
“I did really like him, Erin...” Chance added lightly, easily pulling her out of her thoughts again. She grinned and shook her head. "I'll fight you, Chance. You wanna take this outside?" Erin tried to assume a menacing expression. Someone turned around and shushed her loudly, and Erin's attempt broke. "Oh, sorry!" she whispered, then giggled, nudging Chance with an impish grin.

Chance Savege
Chance leaned toward her seat and added, “And he said something about feeling torn up about some stuff and wanting to learn to just be himself. Frankly, I couldn't understand half of it, but he was soooo cute!”
Erin cocked her eyebrow curiously. "Um, yeah, I don't get it either, but okay!" Chance didn't see her disgruntled look, his face already returned to a fixed grin as he looked up at the opening credits. The hilarious, cheesy old film brought back a lot of memories and nostalgia. A few minutes in, though, he looked over to whisper to Erin, unable to stand the distance being quiet in a theater would create. Like anyone joined in a crowd to watch a film in order to sit silently by themselves! Really!
“I did really like him, Erin...” Chance added lightly, making her grin and shake her head in stubbornness.
"I'll fight you, Chance. You wanna take this outside?" He smirked.
"Ooooh...just bring it, cupcake. I can take you anytime, anywhere!" He shook his fists in a circular motion in front of his face, assuming a boxer's position, but had apparently gotten a little too loud for other viewers, who shushed them. He sent them a glare, though it was useless in the black theater.
"Oh, sorry!" Erin whispered, then giggled, nudging Chance with an impish grin lit up by the flash of light on the screen. He rolled his eyes and made a little 'Pffft..' sound.
"Losers, all of them, so whatever..." They sat back in to enjoy the movie for a few minutes, until Chance was done admiring Michael J. Fox's epic jacket and dorky dance moves. He turned back to Erin as the time machine car took off into the past, and with a soft, serious sort of smile told her, "You know... I actually need to find someone for awhile... I'm having trouble with Liv..." he sighed, looked back at the screen, then toward Erin. "She's so complicated, you know?" He rolled his eyes for a moment, then wondered if he should wait until after the movie to tell Erin just how 'complicated' Liv had become recently. Erin would probably have a hard time staying quiet enough for the other patrons if he told her here, in the middle of the dark theater, so he opened up his packet of sunflower seeds, popping them into his mouth and shuddering at the powerful saltiness. After a moment of crunching as loudly as possible, he leaned forward and spit the shell ahead of him, right past some guy's head. He turned, surprised and unsure, and Chance tried to stifle a giggle, reaching for more. "Game on..." he mumbled to Erin.
